Has anyone replaced/repaired a reel for the shades? My pass side shade doesn't work and wanted to know if anyone had removed one. I have interior trim tools and really want to pull it out and get it in good order again.

I could be wrong but I think he is talking about the passenger sider sun roof shade that sits over the passenger side rear seat?

Went to the dealer, they were moderately helpful, got a good picture of the assembly. $162 was their best price for a new reel. It may have to wait, my garage is full of Super Beetle and F150! When I get to it I'll document the process.
