I got lazy one day and stopped threw one. The top spinning thing hit the rack so hard is shattered the deflector and moved my rack back about and inch.

Sal, if you install the bolt so that the nut is on top and then put a little bit of JB weld on the bolt head, when it cures you'll be able to pop off the rack in a matter of minutes by zipping the nuts off and not having to hold the head of the bolts. I did something similar to that when i installed a compressor above the wheel well in my pickup truck... worked like a charm
I think I understand what you're saying. Right now though the clamps holding the basket to the uni-strut pops off pretty fast so just 4 bolts and the basket pops off but the uni-strut will stay behind.
