Well some of you have been able to receive some teasers. This 96 gem stone is in immaculate condition (minus the driver chair being roughed up - which I don't care about). She is Forest Green, Limited, with the 5.2 and the Quadratrac 4x4 system and towing package. She also has leather, power everything, and memory seats, and cd player. She came with a very delicious CAI - which makes her sound like a beast. I'm VERY pleased with this purchase.

Without further adieu

My plans for this beautiful Jeep are 33-35's on a 4.5" lift, upgraded long arms, After market rear bumper with tire carrier and aftermarket front bumper. Skids, side guards, roofrack, and relocation of the spare tire on the outside. Possible some

well... Sal and I will be doing most of the work on her - And I REALLY look forward to crack'n open some beers and climbing under our XJ and ZJ lol.. She's is excellent. I think the only thing that really needs to be looked at is the timing belt or the tensioner or something - She has a subtle squeal when mashing on the gas, It's that or the Water pump needs to be replaced soon. Both are easy fixes. She's got 177k miles as a 1996 model. So she has been modestly used and she was well taken care of... I seek to abuse her

Nice! Can't wait to see the mods go on and the final look.

Thanks guys for your approval - I'm really excited about the Jeep. First line of order is to check this timing belt and tensioners. She's makes a slight squeak. If it's not that I'll check the water point. I need her in full mechanical operation with no nuisances before I start the mods, which probably wont start for a couple months. She drives just so amazing right now, really pleased..

"GreenGiant" : Update

In my previous post I noted she was squealing and that AC was not cold. Fixed BOTH problems in 15 mins. Dumped some Freon in her... ICE COLD now... and sprayed some Belt conditioner on her. No squeaks, ice cold ac... I can hear that engine rumble! Going to continue to drive her to squeeze out as many issues as I can before lifting and tires.

The center-display stopped working - SOOO - I need to check the fuses, relays, and wiring - but I don't know much about ZJ's electronics so I've just been doing a lot of reading.

Thanks Mates. The Squeal returned this afternoon so I went and got a new serpentine belt - and replaced it. Took about 15 mins. Very easy to do on the 5.2L more of a pain on the 4.0HO's. Then I drove her hard for about 45 mins.

It's actually really funny you both mention that - I was texting Sal earlier to make sure his weekend is clear next weekend for a modest lift and tire install. Should be fun.

Ur going to be mad when I get there. We are going to jack it up. Slap the lift on in literally, an hour. Get the tires put on do the trimming and it won't take more than 2hrs and I will already be higher up than your XK. Then I will start coming after the XJ's height, lol. (Even though I like the XJ's XCase better) Nothing stopping me from a Xcase swap.

Sal-XK
08-26-2011, 11:17 AM
Well when you consider the weight loss gains in suspension lift from having your bumpers chopped up and your doors ripped off she'll get some extra lift from that to.

cico7
08-26-2011, 12:41 PM
So you will be doing this during the hurricane storm??

LOL.. That XJ is so large it hardly registers on those springs, lol. Suspension barely sags with 450 lbs of furniture inside it.

So you will be doing this during the hurricane storm??

lol, no way dude. I'm going to do it next weekend at Sal's place! Wooo.... Sal, you tell me what beer you want and we will get it done.. but we'll have to drink after we get the tires off, because we gotta swap those with the new tires... and we are big advocates of "No drinking and Driving"

Well I'm not driving so drinking and wrenching works for me, you don't think I took my doors off sober do you ;)

I meant to say that XJ is so LIGHT. That thing toss's and turns under 15mph winds. The tires alone probably generate close to a quarter of its weight, lmao.
Yeah, First thing we'll do is swap the tires out when I get there, then we'll stop buy a store and pick up ur fav.

Almost 2... I will definitely be visiting this Friday and/or Saturday. It is entirely up to you in terms of the day, Sal. My BB, if it was not affected by hurricane Irene, will be in tomorrow. :) and tires are already with me. I just bought a 46" plasma today... because my 32" could not be repaired... and my roommate told me he wouldn't come out of his room unless a TV went in there... So I got one. so NOW i'm definitely done spending for the next few weeks, haha.

Lol, I need to figure out why the hell when I plug an ethernet into the back of my xbox and a router I don't get internet. And my internet is COMPLIMENTARY. So i'm seriously hot right now. I sent you a pic of the set up, you like? 46 inches of plasmic goodness. (Came out of my Jeep fund) I couldn't bare it any longer being without a TV. Which means no more Jeep work for me till Christmas, lol.
