so i had my house o the market for a year (a year ago) and no bites so i had no choice but to keep it so i have 2 now lol and rent tge other one out to some stoners haha

marlin told me they were going to use the superlift parta to drop the front components back to factory and then their lift to lift it.... i dont know all of the details yet.
i have to buy the superlift and then its game on... im about $600 shy of the sl right now. so after i sell those links i will just be $200 short and just buy it

Last time I went there we made a weekend out of it.. drove out friday evening, wheeled saturday, then drove home sunday morning. I'd probably be up for doing the same... it makes wheeling that much more enjoyable since you're not thinking about that long drive home; you're thinking about dinner and a beer and a relaxing evening!

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but... IT DON'T GET ANY CHEAPER!
You probably have a few years after day care to save some money, or spend it on XK stuff, at about 4th, 5th or 6th grade your screwed.
That's when the clothes start and the $100 dollar shoes that only last a few months and so on. If you have an athelete on your hands get ready.
My best friend has 3 daughters his oldest the same age as my only son. We were both bit**in the other day on what we spend.
My son is 16 now I got the car thing goin on, tired of being the chauffer, so I'm buying it. He is a soccer player HS and club, that's an easy $1,500. He plays HS baseball and premier baseball. Me and my wife figured premier baesball is an easy $7,000 with our travel and hotels and stuff.
Now all these things are FUN for all of us, so I'm not complaining, for the most part all the money was worth it and he has really developed as a young man because of the sports. He has really learned some good life lessons.
A college scholarship would be GREAT but.... we know, reality, he is better off staying a good student. There is way more college money for being smart.
Ok, this sucks, this will be his 4th year playing for his premier baseball team, thats $28,000. OUCH!
Anyways, sorry for being the one to break it to ya, but your better off hearing it now!

Many positives to earning your keep and a car.
This was a huge debate with my wife, let's say she won, with my agreement, times are really different.
The biggest thing is putting a young driver in something that is safe, with all the latest technology and that means newer. The safety technology in a car that he could afford is way different than what is available. So yep he is getting a car on my dime.
I'll feel better when he starts pulling out of the driveway on his own.
Now he does have to pay for other things, cell phone, music downloads and all the video games. Gas and half the insurance is on him.
He pulled his wallet out the other day and offered to by dinner. I think he may be off to a decent start.
I made it clear this will be his only car from me and I suggested that he makes it last thru college.
On my 18th birthday, sr in HS, my dad said to me Happy Birthday, by the way you owe me $210 a month rent from now till your out of the house.
Anyway... have fun.

My father got me a badass car when I was sixteen and paid for all the parts for the restoration. Then when I got my license I was given a gas card. lol Gotta say, I thought life was great and I appreciate the fact that I was allowed to enjoy those first few years driving with no worries.

In my defense, I wrestled all year round (except football season) and I did work my ass off for the family business in the summer.(all spending money)

I also got a partial scholarship to wrestle in college so that was sort of a pay back I guess.

The wife wants the kids to pay for their own but, if they're involved in sports and get good grades I'm gonna hook em' up regardless of what the wife says. You only get to be a kid once. They'll have plenty of time to worry about bills and insurance when they're out on their own.

My parents helped me get my first car , after that it was all on me. We bought a new Altima June 2010. I told my daughter who was 6 at the time, help take care of the car cause that is going to be her first car. We seem to keep a car about ten years. That thing has 30K miles on it in one year, probably wont be around in 9 more years. LOL . If the child shows some resposibility and respect as they become a teenager then I wouldnt mind buying their first car, then its up to them.

I was thinking the same thing at first... but it depends on how they sit in relation to the tire. If the radius of the tire encompasses most of that arm, it'll probably be OK...

btw - you guys should compare the stock long arms to those. Those things are STOUT. They are also thicker than the rear support/sliding rails on the back of our Jeeps, the LA's are well done.

The fuel skid was hammered out. I could stick my hand between the t.case skid and fuel skid it was so beat up. Yea i put the spacer back on adter i got the new longer rear coils. And then just cranked on the front to get it up and level.

So far so good on the angles. Its only been level for a day but the rear has been up for about a month

I was refering to if you extended the wheelbase back out with the long arms, and whether or not you had to extend the tailshaft with a spacer or not?

Umm ive been hiding from the forums .... but ive been busy on my facebook group that is basically a forum of its own.

Mods wise i havent bought anything yet but my original plan for next week was to buy s4xc bumper, winch, x jack, & arb oba for tires/ lockers. But now its all changed up. Tuesday ill just be buying the bumper for now. I recently talked to Marlin and he said he had some parts to start the steel front diff for the wk/xk so i will have to buy gears and a front locker and oba. I think he might also be planning on making some super cv's that hes anout to release for the lib's allowing more flex cause that's whats holding my front from flexing right now

Ya you got me starring at my dash. I don't know how to do fiber glass and don't know anyone who does either so I might have to do mine in metal which means I'll end up with more of a square look for sure

You should try! Just layer resin, glass, resin, glass, resin.let it dry & if you want to copy the mold of the dash lay down some good paper and do what i wrote above just make sure theres no waves in the paper or it'll mold like thay

I want to put the gauges I have in there then oil and trans temp gauges then all the switches I need as well. I'll need probably about 6 or more switches so this application would be great for all of that.

Got a few things in today! I got a new antenna. Heavy duty stainless steel and the reception is great! I also got the infamous power wire in too. Ill do some tests on it tomorrow or thursday and report back on that.

I think it will all fit. I won't be putting my CB in there that's where the inclinometer will go and just two more gauges then the switches. I'm thinking about getting rid of my rear view mirror and hanging my CB there. :cool:

I was bored so i figired id test the power wire and see if it actually dropped the intake air temp (iat on superchips) heres a few pics shoeung that it works. I still want to do a few 1/4 runs and see what happens. I never did another run 50-100 miles after i installed the 91+ tune either ao we will see. But heres the pics.

Ive heard the ecu will find out you have a tune and correct it. They said to do another 1/4 run after 50-100 miles so i waited until i needed more gas (250 miles) so i did another run and was. .05 faster lol so the power wire works and made up gor the ecu messing with the tune or the ecu didnt mess with the tune... either way it got me back to 14 mpg a .5mpg gain when driving nicely

Yeah that was another benefit to why I got it as well. And shaving a 1/10 of a second ain't bad. And i'm sure this manifests into something better of a mile time... and I'm sure it has some benefit on the trail... 50 bucks for 8-10 hp and torque... honestly ain't bad.

The other reason i went over was to test fit some 37's bfg a/t to see if they'd rub or not... well i got the rear to rub about 1/2" before the bump stop. I figures what the hell and told him i wasnt leaving without them. So we traded rims/tires and i owe him 300$.
