What I'm thinking is everyone wright a comprehensive review of the tires they are running now or have run in the past and post it here. I will list all the reviews in this post with links pointing to the corresponding post in this thread. That way there will be one spot for people to research tires and links and a place to point to when people ask what tires are best? or has anyone used these tires? Please supply pics if you can. Follow the format as posted already

Brand: Good Year
Model: Wrangler Silent Armor
Size: 255/75/17
Price: $130 installed/each (have since gone up to 190 since last October)
Wheel used: Stock wheels
Lift: 3" OME
Weight: 43lb/tire

Road: Noticeable noise on road but not loud or annoying. Drives very smooth, and wears evenly. Under adverse weather conditions, like standing water - These tires coupled with the Jeep BTC system work very well together. The tire tread is not so large that the treat will like to grab water and hydroplane. Additionally, the tread is not so small as to slip and drive right over top of water as well - the true idealism for an AT tire. Instead, with this tire really just knocks the water either forward and/or out of the way. I've never loss control of this vehicle under rain, sleet, or snow.

Mud Review: Performs decent in mud for an A/T - has a very good tread system which prevents dirt and mud from getting compacted. This is important for a lot of different reasons including maximized traction and no one wants to toss rocks and dirt down the road for several miles.

Rock Review: Could be a little better, one of my primary concerns which this tire has been sidewall puncture, especially for my size with the slightly taller sidewall over the 265/70/17. Will struggle to grip if the air is not brought down appropriately

Sand Review: AMAZING in sand, this is where this tire truly performs. Again, the beauty of an All-Terrain tire, especially in sand, is it's it's resilience and wide-use application. It has enough tread for traction to acquire and maintain momentum, but not so much tread as to bury and high-center itself.

Snow Review: VERY good in snow, the self-cleaning tread pattern for this tire really pays off here. Keeps snow out of the tread. On and off the road, this tire does well in Snow.

Air down Review: I could have air down a bit more in many of my previous experiences, But i've aired down to about 20 all the way around for rock crawling. I should have done about 15, this also partially affected my review for it's rock crawling capability. But I know others with this same tire and size rock crawling frequently.

Overall Impression:
This is a fantastic alternative to the more expensive brands out there. It has climbed up in price a lot, and rightfully so - it is a very reliable tire, and it is a true all-terrain tire... I've literally wheeled in all of it on these tires. I have pulled shards of metal and sliced a tire from it rubbing the pinchweld and it still does fantastic. When wheeling on the rocks, I am not missing any chunks of rubber out of my tire, and although it will struggle if not deflated property it will get you where ya want to go. If equipped on a QTII or better vehicle - I can see this being an phenomenal tire.

Price: $1,400 installed (All four)

Lift: Rocky Road 2.25" Spacer
Spare: Factory OEM 245/60/17 (And it's a gripe because the spare tire space won't allow anything larger)

After this last weekend in Colockum Wildlife Wilderness, I can say I do like them A LOT.

Road: On the road, they aren't all that loud, but they're certainly not quiet either. It's a pleasant noise, and at 60 MPH, they ''phase hunt'' much like flying in a twin engine aircraft as one engine is always a few RPM higher/lower than the other. It just creates somewhat of a ''rolling sound shift'' around you. The low pitch howling changes while cornering. If you want super quiet tires for road trips, these are not for you. :)

Rock: Heaven knows we did rocks this weekend. Miles and miles of man-head sized rocks in the ''road'' with a lot of triangle shaped rocks sticking up. 10 MPH is going fast on these roads. That's where 10 plies comes in. I can't see that 100 miles of that stuff has done anything to these tires. And, they lock into the surface while climbing like gear teeth. There's zero slippage.

Sand: We got a good try out on sand on the way there. There's dunes near Beverly on hwy 240. Last trip to the same general area, we ventured up a sandy road heading up into a canyon. At a steep spot, we had to give it up and back out, or we would've been frame buried. (We're talking about a good 15% grade here) Tried the same road this time out, and crawled right on up. They just get down and dig. They seem to move enough sand backwards to keep you moving onwards. I could feel the Jeep actually drop into the surface, which is nerve racking, but it just goes and goes. As for airing down, we didn't bother as it just kept climbing in the stuff that was too soft to walk in. :)

Mud: The only mud I've seen is in a farm circle road the same day the tires were installed. I didn't get out and walk it first, but it was pretty soft. The circle pivots were watering it down like rain, and I wasn't getting out! It wasn't enough to really tell what they are capable of, so like snow, a review will have to wait 'til later.

https://theultimatejeep.com/images/imported/2011/09/DSCF1967JPG-1.jpg

I did have to cut back the inner fender well. It's thin plastic, so a utility knife works. They got a good test last weekend, and no rubbing.

Road review: There a little loud on the road so that can be annoying on long trips. They handle all the rain and water I've driven threw and I've been threw some floods and ridiculous rain storms at highway speeds no issues at all. Pretty good at turning for a MT very little to no tire roll detected except at extreme maneuvers and even then it was hardly noticeable the sidewalls stayed put there pretty stiff.

Mud Review: I don't seek mud but had no choice a few time. Mostly during down pours at Uwharrie where the trails become sled chutes at that point. The tires did awesome grabbing and biting the whole time. I had probably the least amount of issues in the group when the trails turned to mud.

Rock Review: This where I spend most of my time on the rocks and ledges. I air them down and they grip like crazy and don't fall apart when you spin them on the rocks either. At low pressure where I run them they are extreme at puncture resistance. Crawling over pointy rocks and squeezing them threw tight spots no problems here at all.

Sand Review: Probably the second place they spend most of there time. I don't air down for sand and even with easily 1000LBS of cargo I cruise threw 12" of sand no problem. The tread is very aggresive so if you're not careful they will bite the sand a bury you in it. I've been stuck once while anchored to another SUV my tires spun and I dug in quick the tread just bites. If I didn't let off I think they would of dug to china if I let them.
Snow Review: Only been on snow once with them and they did well. I could accelerate like it was dry out and stopping and turning where better then expected.

Air down Review: I air down to 12PSI and have had no issues. The tires flex and conform to the surroundings and never complain once about it see pic below.

Overall Impression: Overall I could not of asked for a better set of tries. I've done some crazy stuff with them and they have never let me down and I've never even worried at all that they would which included a trip from NC to Chicago. While comparing prices to comparable tires at the time of purchase these were also about the cheapest ones out there as well.

I ran these for almost two years, and they served me well.

Quiet on the road, nice ride, handling is nice.

Pretty good in sand, did some playing in local dunes and the beach on the Oregon coast. Forget about climbing straight up a big steep dune like a sand rail, but they'll get you around good enough. I never got stuck. Sandy roads (Such in around Moab) won't be a problem.

Okay in mud, they slip but I never got stuck. Mud gets flung out for a while after you get back to hard surface, so it collects in the tread. (To be expected with all AT's)

In snow, they drive like it's dry. Pretty good grip on ice too. You can drive around on ice you can't stand up on. We've pushed grill deep snow on day trips, and the only time we became sss... stu... stu... (I can't say it) shall we say "momentarily immobilized" was when the Jeep's skid plates rode up on hard packed snow. After a bit of steering back and forth and wallering, it backed out of the bad spot and we gave it up. We left behind a flat track like a sled was dragged thru. (Maybe 18'' deep snow)

Rocks, they're okay. I got pretty used to the short "pulsing slide" sounds as the traction control checks spinning. That's something that has disappeared with the new M/T's, which do not slip AT ALL. Although never a problem, I was always aware of having 4 ply sidewalls, and drove slow on heavy boulder roads.

In all the off-roading I've done, I haven't aired down tires. Decades ago in my Toyota Land Cruiser with its 15'' wide tires, but all I ever did back then was sand dunes. It would however, not only climb a dune with a 100% slope, it would catch air at the top. :) (It was a turbocharged beast)

Excellent tires.
Wrangler SilentArmor tires are Goodyear's premium On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tires.
Goodyear's Durawall rubber compound is molded at the base of the tread
grooves to increase resistance to stone/rock drilling. The tire's internal
structure includes an Armor Zone that consists of twin, high-tensile steel belts
reinforced by a layer of DuPont KEVLAR cord to combine strength with comfort.
The Durawall rubber compound is also used in the sidewalls to resist scuffing
and abrasion to protect the polyester cord body, and rim guards help protect
wheels from accidental on- or off-road hazards.

Model: Grabber AT/2
Size: P245/70/17
Price: $140 each
Wheel used: KMC XK Spy
Lift: 2" RC
Spare: Factory

Road: Road traction has been great... no complaints there. They're a bit louder than other AT's i've owned... BUT I think that may be due to my alignment being out (front end sagged 1" which changes the toe, this will result in some excessive road noise).

Snow: Un-Freaking-Stoppable. I couldn't be more impressed with snow traction... I don't think it's possible to get better snow traction, literally. Some of the stuff I drove through should have stopped my XK in its tracks regardless of tires.

Sand: Haven't really been in deep sand yet

Mud: Haven't been in deep/sticky mud yet... but the bit I went through wasn't an issue at all. Tires seemed to clean out fairly well.

Overall Impression: These are a hard tire to beat for the price. Offroad and snow traction completely blows away the 2 sets of BFG ATs i've owned in the past. Very impressed and would HIGHLY recommend them.

Brand: BF Goodrich
Model: M/T KM2
Size: 265\70\17
Price: $200 ea. (approx)
Wheel used: Stock wheels
Lift: OME HD 2.25"

Road: Much more well behaved than most M/T tires. Quiet (Comparitively). They still make the 4x4 hum but it's very soft and no droning occurs in the cabin at all. More quiet than some Toyo street tires I used to have on my older Jetta. Grip is great and no major slipping occurs when taking sharp curves in the rain.

Snow: I've only used these on my dad's F250 in snow, never on my Commander. On his truck on a road with about 1" of snow on the surface no slipping occured with these tires. It's as if the snow didn't exist.

Sand: Great from what i can tell from last weekend on the Beach. Never dug itself in(but then again it's always 4wheel drive). Not sure how they would do on a rear wheel only vehicle.

Mud: Only limited use in mucky areas. Never extra thick mud. Always seems to make it out without too much fuss and I imagine that they would do very well but nothing amazing.

Rocks: Wow! This is where this tire really shines! My engine will give up before i run out of grip. I always run this tire aired down when on rocky trails, more for comfort than the need of extra grip. Slippage does not generally occur at all on most trails especially if it is all rock and less dirt.

Overall Impression: I would highly recommend this tire to anyone! I've got about 12000 miles on these tires so far and they don't seem worn at all. They do great on just about any surface and don't drive you crazy while on the road on trips.

Tire: 255.75.17 BFG Mud Terrain KM1
Wheel: Stock with 1.25" Wheel Spacers
Lift: 2 inch Daystar, Robbys Half inch leveler (pinch weld mod, adn lots of trimming)
Cost: $200.00 for all four mounted and ballanced
Miles: 10,000 so far, still at 70% tread

Road: They make a ton of noise. Constant tire hummmmmmm, and my fiance will no longer drive with the windows down. Road traction has been excellent even in the rain.

Snow: I have not had the chance to test them in the snow yet, but I would assume the deep lugs will help get moving and clean the voids easy.

Sand: Hate sand, wont drive in it.

Mud: The Mud Terrains are great in the mud, no supprise. They provide lots of lateral traction as well for off camber trails in the sloppy stuff. I was able to stop in the middle of a bud pit, hook up a tow rope and pull out my brothers ZJ and didn't get stuck. Tread cleans out the Missouri Muck really well.

Rocks: Love the traction in the rocks. Really pulls well over ledges, and loose bolders. I air down to about 20 psi now, and that helps them flex and ride smoother. No sidewall problems, but I am now missing 4 or 5 of the large lugs from the tread. These tires chunk really bad, and it is very dissapointing.

Overall Impression: I would highly recommend this tire to anyone looking for a great deal on a great tire. They may be a tad pit noisy, but I only paid $200.00 for the whole set. Lots of Rubicon guys are switching their tires out after the lift, and Craigs List is full of these with little or no miles on them.

Size: 33X12.5
Price: 350$ all 4. (used and GG was emerging)
Wheel used: 15" Cragar 8's
Lift: 6" Custom lift

Road: Significant noise on road not desirable for long distance. Slow speeds between slow speeds can be a pain especially under 45mph. At most a 'C'

Mud Review: Performs well in in mud - it IS an MT tire afterall - removes mud from tread pretty quickly. It's a 33x12.5 tire so it's a nice wide tire. Have not got stuck in a situation that required winching or some form other recovery. Definitely an 'A'

Rock Review: When deflated correctly - the tires perform WELL. I've deflated to 15PSI with this tire on these cragar wheels and It does very well. It HAS lost some tread on the tire from rock crawling but I attributed that to rock crawling it on my first time wheeling it. You know it's a balance of the tire characteristics and driver capability, knowing what I know now - this tire would be in much better shape and would perform a lot better. 'B-'

Sand Review: I've only taken this to Kill Devil Hills once... and it did pretty decent... I'd give it about an 'B'

Snow Review: Decent in snow, but I'd definitely prefer an A/T tire in snow. This tire was just not the appropriate tire for this vehicle in snow. At the same time, it doesn't have the same technology that my WK had. But otherwise it's a decent tire in snow. I would place it in the C+ range for snow.

Air down Review: Air down in this tire with this wheel is not a problem at all, The lowest I put this tire on is 12, but typically I leave it at 15. It does a fine job.

Overall Impression:
Overall, this is definitely just a trailing tire. It's versatility is very limited in terms of it's application across various mediums. I'd recommend it for dedicated trail rigs, not a DD. And there are some M/T's solid and well-rounded enough for DD application. This one just isn't it. But again, this is when General Grabber's MT tire was starting to emerge. This tire is no longer produced, there are variants available today that i'm sure measure up to the competition

If anyone is running tires on there other SUV's or trucks you can add them as well to the list just add a space to and tell us what vehicle your reviewing on. Matt I know your running a different tire on your liberty you can add a review for that. AJ can add a review of his new AT's as well when he gets some time with them. The more reviews the better we can link this thread on other forums where people are asking for help drawing some more attention to this forum.

Sounds good... i'll work on a review each night this week lol. Dynapro's on the Liberty, ATZs & Cooper LTZs on my sierra, Toyo ATs & PJ Dirt grips on my silverado.... Bridgestone duelers & Procomp Xterrains & BFG ATs on my explorer.... BFG ATs on my wrangler... wow the list keeps going!

Maybe i'll stick with my recent vehicles ;)

It's funny, I was going to just 'reserve' a post. But then when I saw you post the links up top. I was like, "Man thats a sweet idea". So yeah, I'm just spending some time with them. I'll have one up for the Firestone Destinations A/T's up in a couple months.

Brand: Hankook
Model: Dynapro ATM RF10
Size: 225/75/16
Price: Don't remember... they're VERY affordable tires
Wheel used: Stock wheels
Lift: N/A- these are on my wifes stock KK

SNOW:

Let me start by saying that these are on my wifes Liberty. They replaced the stock tires last winter. Her KK is 2WD with selectable 4x4... not AWD like (most of) our XK's. We got so much snow last winter and her KK was about as useful as a supercharged mustang in the snow; very disappointing. Even in 4x4 it just didn't want to go anywhere. We bought the vehicle used and the tires only had 30k miles on them... but i decided they had to go. So we threw on a set of the Hankooks..... The rest is history!

These Dynapro's were taking the KK places in 2wd that was beyond a struggle in 4x4. It was almost like we magically installed some lockers along with the tires...

ROAD:

Road manners are great. Very quiet tire.

RAIN:

Again... a HUGE improvement over stock. The KK is a "peppy" vehicle with the 3.7L. With the stock tires you had to be careful because you could easily spin the tires in the rain. With the ATM's, I very rarely lose traction when the roads are wet... i'd really have to hit the gas quick and have the wheel turned.

LOOKS:

These tires are very aggressive looking for an A/T. I especially like the sidewalls which really improve the look of the vehicle from the side. Even at stock height and stock sized tires, the sidewall design makes the vehicle look more rugged.

OVERALL:

These tires are VERY affordable. I can't speak much for longevity.... but I'd highly recommend them. Let's put it this way, if I was getting new A/T only tires for my XK, i'd consider these tires even though I have a proven winner with my current AT2's. I would actually give the Hankooks the edge in the "looks" department.

Brand: Bridgestone
Model: Dueler Revo 2
Size: 265/70/17
Price: Purchased used for $400 w/ 75% tread remaining
Wheel used: Stock, Chrome Clad wheels
Lift: 2 inch Rough Country

Road: Pretty quiet for an AT. Excellent traction on wet roads, slush, etc. They are wearing pretty good after 10,000 +/- miles. Dry traction is just as good, I see no issues at all! (A)

Mud: I haven't been in anything too serious. Just a few slick trails I used to frequently visit after class. I never had any issues. The tread doesn't clean out too quickly, the tread pattern sorta traps it. (B-)

Rock: I've been to Uwharrie twice with these tires and haven't had any issues being aired down (about 15 psi). I wouldn't exactly say they are amazing on rock, there aren't any "lugs" to grab ledges. They seem pretty tough being only a 6 ply (maybe 7?) no gouges or unusual slices missing. I'm not complaining especially for a less aggressive AT. (B)

Sand: Never had the opportunity

Snow: Pretty darn good actually but then again the QD-2 is a major factor haha! I went wheeling at a spot with about 10 inches of snow, they had great traction especially after the snow turned muddy! (B)

Overall review: A great tire for the guy who doesn't visit the trails that often. However you will be confident on the trails, I have yet to experience any problems. I would definitely recommend this tire!

Road review- Very quiet, Great on road traction wet or dry, smooth ride.
Mud Review- N/A
Rock Review- Not so good, struggles for traction on loose rocks, sidewall too soft, punctured one tire and took a chunk out of the another one on one trip, I would suggest getting the Trail Grapplers for more aggressive off roading
Sand Review- N/A
Snow Review- N/A
Air down Review: It's a must, at least to 15psi to get the best traction on these tires

Caleb after watching you run those tires on the trails and considering the price of them as well I can safely say I would never purchase those tires. Hopefully this thread will help you pick out nice looking tire that performs as good as it looks next time around.

I replaced my stock fortera's with this tire and had no complaints at all. I wanted a little more agressive tire is the only reason I changed out.

Wheels: OEM
Lift: 2" OME
Spacers: 1/4"
Road review- Reasonably quiet, Great on road traction dry, would slip a little when wet roads were encountered. Unless aired down to a much too grippy point they were pretty solid feeling with the E load rating (80psi is the max on these tires!! whoa!) Over all a rough but not too loud ride.
Mud Review- Pretty good but not quite as well suited for this terrain (3 of 5 stars)
Rock Review- Amazing. With these tires aired down they had no issues with rocks and the sidewalls were tough as nails!!! Never had any slippage really climbing rocky ledges.
Sand Review- N/A
Snow Review- N/A Note These tires are stud-able for snow/ice use. Check out the holes in the tread on the picture!!
Air down Review: On the trail it's a must to air these down. The tire is so rigid at a higher road use psi that it can't conform to the rocks and soft ground very well and will spin some on rocks and will tear up soft ground (mushy grassy surfaces) quickly with no traction. On the road if you have them aired down too much they grip the road too well and cause heavy wear and might contribute to rolling an SUV if you had to turn quickly (not likely though with sway bars connected unless put into extreme situations) However if you have them aired up to a normal setting they ride very rough. Almost need 55 psi to keep them from getting too grippy!

I'd reccommend these tires for something like an F-250 or 350 where you need a high psi tough sidewall tire for heavy loads. They work great on our jeeps but not the best available. Over all pretty quiet tire on the Commander cause of it's decent sound dampening.

I replaced the Forteras with Cooper Discoverer ATRs on my black 07 XK 4.7 Sport and I was very impressed by them. I ran them in the snow and they were great. Never got to off-road them because I wrecked it a month before an outing. When I got my 06 XK Hemi Limited I replaced the Forteras with Hankook DynaPro ATMs. I have off-roaded them and run them in the snow and they performed great Both sets were the stock size 245/65/17. Due to bending a lower control arm, the Hankooks have worn unevenly and need to be replaced. I am going to replace the Hankooks with the new Cooper Discoverer AT3 in 255/70/17 in about 3 weeks. I will let everyone know how they handle off-road after November Jeepskool.

Mud Terrain SXT
Brand: Dean Tires
Model: Mud Terrain SXT
Size: 265\70\17
Price: 200 Each
Wheels: OEM
Lift: 2" RC
Spacers: 1.5”
Road review- They feel solid and you do hear them (Not like the swampers, but you do hear them)
Mud Review- Love the grip
Rock Review- Also love the grip here
Sand Review- Have not had them in sand yet
Snow Review- Last year with all the snow it was able to get me farther than the rest of the rigs I was running with, so I love them. Also they can be PINed so that should tell you something.
Air down Review: Soft sidewalls, so when I tried 15 psi I was all over the place, so brought it up to 25 psi it helped but I learned I don’t feel good about going below 30 psi on these.

Note I want to say; these are Load E rated & I normally run about 40 all the time. Al in all I am happy with them.

Just reserving this slot for the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's

Brand: Good Year
Model: Wrangler Duratrac's
Size: 285/70/17
Price: 900 + 40 for the install and balance (includes free replacement of tires)
Wheel used: Stock wheels
Lift: Modified OME 3" lift (MLL+'s (extended Monroe Load Leveler Shocks))
Weight: 53lb/tire

Road: These are not MT tires, but obviously are a very aggressive A/T. On the road, they have a faint hum at most speeds. At slower speeds you can feel the tread underneath you. It's not oppressive or anything though. Drives through the rain like a champ, does NOT hydroplane, but prefers to knock water everywhere.

Mud Review: These tires are the best performing A/T tires I've ever owned. Mud slugs on the outside with A/T tread in the middle. It makes it a VERY versatile tire. Put the tires in the mud and all they want to do is stick to the ground.

Rock/trail Review: Get ready to hear tons of tapping when you are done wheeling. Pebbles seem to find there way into the tread pretty easily. But they 'self-clean' pretty well. They'll still look dirty, but the tread clears pretty well. These tires are more than capable on rocky/trail/gravel conditions.

Sand Review: Because these tires are a little bit wider than what I have used in the past for this WK, they ride a little differently than my silent armors. The silent armors pressed the sand a lot while riding on it, so the tracks were deeper. The Duratrac's ride on top, i'm sure they press, but they don't pess as much since the weight is distributed over a wider tire. But the tires clean well in sand, actually they clean well across all environments. Very nice tire in sand.

Snow Review:

Air down Review: I felt a lot more comfortable airing these tires than my previous, especially for wheels that aren't beadlocked. I aired down to 15psi all the way around. Improved the traction of the tires, especially in mud.

I am very impressed with these so far. It has been very rainy in this area over the past couple of weeks and they have handled the wet roads very well. On dry roads there is not much noise and they have tons of grip. As soon as I am able I will take them off-road to see what they can do.

Sorry about the pic quality I have yet to load my camera software into the new desktop and my new notebook won't load the software.

I have Duratracs but unfortunately most of the snow had melted not long after getting them installed. For the short time I had with them in the snow, they performed great though. They have snowflake rating too and they've had great snow reviews also so I'm not all that worried. These will probably be louder than what you're used to with the Silent Armors, however.

Duratracs are great. They perform great in all weather conditions. I intend to get a wider pair of duratracs once these are done.

Brief background... these tires were to replace used JK Rubi M/T's I bought from Craigslist a couple years back. The Muds were worn, and not symmetrically so the ride was rough and loud. I switched to AT solely because of budget and ride. I chose this exact tire based on what I had seen around online about the tires and reviews (50k warranty as well) . Honestly I don't wheel my jeep enough to require Muds.

**Will update review as I get on more terrain. These are brand new as of 11OCT2013

Brand: Falken
Model: Wildpeak AT
Size: 265/70/17
Price: 700 (Including alignment and mount/balance)
Wheel used: JK Rubis
RR 2.25 Lift
Weight:not sure

Road: QUIET. My jeep rides like a freaking Buick. Rides like when I bought it.
