What do you guys prefer?

I've been a religious Firefox user for years now..... thinking of giving Chrome a try "just because". Any reviews? Things you guys like/dislike?

I use chrome primarily.. but I do have to use both IE and firefox to verity they all display webpages correctly as I'm building sites.

Mostly I like the speed and lack of clutter.

I'm a google chrome person myself. Only thing I don't like about it is when I find pictures a like (JEEP PICTURES!!) It's a bit of a process to pull them off the net and toss them in a file. I can't just copy and paste, lol. I have to right click, and save image as. Then I gotta dig the folder up find the file and move it to the right location.

I've used every browser out there and IMO chrome is the cleanest and the fastest browser I have used. Firefox is I would say is a close second IE would be dead last even on the fastest computer that browser is garbage. Everyone do your self a favor down load Chrome and just give it a try. AJ I never had an issue right clicking and saving pictures in chrome not sure what would cause you to have one. Oh it also has a incognito option. You can open chrome in incognito mode and will no trace of where you been or what your doing and hide you from prying internet eyes as well not that I ever needed to use it myself LOL

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure chrome can grab your favorites from any of the browsers you've used in the past. Not sure about the saved pass words though.

What are your thoughts on Maxthon? or Safari? (Mostly just giving you a hard time but I but there are A LOT more browsers than the "Big 3" or 4 if want to include Safari..

And all 3 have a private viewing mode of some sort similar to incognito..

Oh one of the features that Chrome has that I find useful is that is has synchronization, so I can sync favorites, settings, and all kinds of other goodies between my desktop and laptop automatically.

Safari looks good and I did like it but found it slower then fire fox and no where as fast as chrome. I did download Maxthon but haven't got around to using yet something I probably should do and check it out. I downloaded it because it was suppose to be faster then chrome and had some other cool features that would make some of my thread making ideas with all the screen captures I do go faster but my daughter took my laptop because hers crashed and I never downloaded it to my wife's laptop that I'm using now. Now I'm going to have to go download and check out since you reminded me.

Not sure what everyone is using for there ISP either that makes a difference. I currently have the biggest connection that's offered in my area I'm pegged out at 20MB download and 1MB up load. I called to get the wide band at 60MB down but its not in my area yet :( I have 2 PS3's 1 Wii 2 Iphones 2 droids 4 laptops 1 Desktop 1 TV and my satellite also hooked up to my internet. So having a fast browser comes in handy when my son is slaying dudes on COD and the daughter is streaming movies and the wife is working 20MB don't go as far as you think it will. I downloaded Maxthon 3 and took a look its very clean looking I'll dig into it and report back on it later Hoax what do you thing of it.

I just tried chrome based on you guy's reccomendations. It's wicked fast! I never use IE cause it's useless and unsecure so Firefox has been the weapon of choice for about 6-7 years now but i'm going to start moving to chrome. It's got a different layout so i'm trying to get used to it. However the differences make it more effecient and quick to navigate. Thanks for the heads up.

Sal I haven't tried it, I mostly just giving you a hard time about using them "all" there are so many obscure browsers that no one has ever even heard of was more my point. They aren't in the mainstream.. I keep with the normal ones because between the 4 that covers 99% of the population and a lot of the way websites are rendered is based on the same base code for these smaller browsers.

I just remembered another feature of Chrome that is pretty neat. It allows for "Cloud Printing" so if you travel a lot and found something of interest apparently you can print it at home. (I haven't had a need for this yet, but it's still pretty neat)

Maxthon 3 seems to be quick but so far no quicker then chrome IMO. I'm having trouble customizing the home screen the way I have my Chrome laid out but for right now anyway it's ok not good enough to replace Chrome. Hoax I get ya :) I'm sure you remember but when I started using chrome it was one of the obscure ones no ever heard of they all have to start somewhere. I remember when IE flooded the market and was free and go sued over that it changed the way we use the internet for ever and lead to the way we operate now. No more doing flash email because you were being charged by second to be on the internet how many remember those days.

Haven't you heard about the new studies that show IE users have a lower IQ? (No kidding)

I like FF, but suddenly looking at the desktop when it crashes out ain't a' makin' many points lately. I'll have to give Chrome a try.

I've never experienced a crash that was caused by chrome. At some points I can have a dozen tabs or more open and have no problems. You try that with IE and it will kill your computer LOL

Yeah I'm always running about 10-15 tabs on chrome. It's pretty smooth actually. 3-4 school tabs, a netflix tab, a pandora tab, a slacker tab, 2-3 UJ tabs, 1-2 JF tabs, 2 email tabs and a few youtube tabs.

So far I like chrome. Honestly don't notice a huge improvement over FF in terms of speed.... and function is pretty much the same. I'm a fan of Google though (android, gmail, etc) so ill continue to use it.

On that note..... what browser do you guys use for Android OS phones? I've been using Dolphin HD but it seems like it got sluggish within the past few app updates....

I just downloaded Opera Mobile. so far I really like it. changed some of the options and sucks having to setup my bookmarks, but the page maneuvers and scrolling are lightning fast. also really like its auto-zoom feature! ! if its not sure which menu item you wanted to click, it automatically zooms in to the two items and you click the one you wanted.

so far... so good. :)

I also like how if you want to scroll to the top or bottom of a page, it senses that and gives you that shortcut button to press.

the more i used it today, the more i liked it.

There's a few things that they could streamline a bit... like putting pages into the speed dial, putting a "reload" and "menu" button on the top bar because i like making the bottom menu disappear. But overall, i like it a lot better than the stock browser and Dolphin HD
