I haven't been on this forum much in the past month or so. i had been really busy with work and other stuff and had not had much time to be on here.

Normally, when things at work are fairly slow, I tend to stop in and check stuff over.

BUT.....I am now a victim of the name switch to the "ultimatejeep" forum....For some reason my works web blocker recognizes this new site now as a "gaming" site and its blocked. "xk-forum" was good to go. However, now.....when I type in "xk-forum" it still blocks on the re-direct.

Since most of my opportunities to check in here arise while I'm at work, its hit and miss when i can get on....If a mobile app ever comes about, it may allow me more chances to read stuff....I am not one of the current "high volume" posters anyway so it problem doesn't affect anyone really, but have been a member of this "base community/group" from the beginning of the other forum, and I do read stuff that affects me or that i think i may be able to provide insights on and add my info when i can.

I am glad for the expansion, growth and progress here at this forum. It just sucks not being able to check in everyday. :(

Some of us had this same issue as the screen blocked us as a porn site for a short while. one member knew who to contact to get us off that list and maybe they will step up again and hook you up (I forgot who did it last Time).

Do you work for the government or private industry? If private industry, just find out who the network admin is and give them a call... tell them that the website is inappropriately labelled and you'd like to get on during lunch breaks.

Can you get a screenshot of the blocked message? With some more info there might be something that can be done.

I used to log on from work almost every day, then the office changed something and the forum hosting company shared an IP with a porn site or something like that and the forum bas black listed, someone from here called the screening company that sets up the software and put us on an exception list and now I have access again. We just need to figure out who that was so they can help you out.

It may not be "pushing" an issue, if your specific gov site uses a 3rd party handled blocking utility all it takes is an email to that company to investigate the site to verify and classify it correctly. That was all it took last time, they change it in their database, and your gov people have no idea it even happened.

I had to give you Rep points for that, thanks!
I was already on the case :)

Unfortunately, no matter how I spin it, I can not come up with any valid reason to request the "over ride" permission to use this site for work related stuff. Out internet policy only technically allow ths used of the net for work related purposes. However, this forum had never been blocked before, so I went with the theory of "if its not blocked it must be ok"....but I know if i request to have it unblocked, it will open Pandora's box. I have been lucky that I have been able to use the site thus far with out having issues.Im afraid that now i am just out of luck on this one.

Yeah, there is no real consistency agency to agency it seems. Not only with computer stuff either. On another note IT recently pushed an update to Firefox and now you can't go to any SSL sites. I can't even bring up my banks homepage. :shaking:

Unfortunately......I can't. I'm not supposed to be online at work, ooops. Lol...

I am guessing most of us "aren't supposed to be online at work". Luckily, there are too many of us to monitor and enough others who are looking at stuff they really ought not be to keep the techies busy.

What did I used to do at work before I had internet in the car?
