Hey guys. Made a little antenna mount today and thought I'd share it with you. I basically copied the Saguaro mount but theirs is $26 and I got enough material for 6 mounts for $6 total. 1" x 1" angle from Home Depot 36" long. Then an hour or so cutting and grinding and drilling some holes. It was a nice easy little project. Definately worth the time if you need two mounts since there is so much material left over. Also it's alot easier to make more once you have the first one figured out.

Thanks for the comments guys.

@ Scorpion, yes, I have a spring for it. I didn't use one for the 2' I have, but I bought a spring for the 4' Firefly.

I mounted it today. Looks much better all painted. It's raining out but I'll get some pics later.

And Chris, if mine looks like I copied off you, then you must have copied it from Saguaro as well. lol

Ohhh, so you copied the first mount I made. lol. Doesn't 4xguard have an enclosed one? I'm pretty sure that's where I got the idea for the first one.

I debated boxing it in but that would have meant pulling out the welder, which typically isn't a chore but, I'm 90% done building a new shed and all my lawn crap is in the garage.

I just finished making up new ends on the antenna wire since I had to cut off the section that was pinched by the tail light. Too dark and rainy for pics though. I think it looks pretty good now that it's all finished. Just have to find someone local who can tune the antenna.

I understand completely lol... i boxed mine in and molded it to the body so it would look a little neater. But ill prob end up buging the 4xg one... i cant leave anything alone. Im always changing something on my jeep lol

Looks good, I boxed mine in, but it basically because I was looking for a reason to use my welder :p

Yeah, usually I'm just lookin for an excuse to weld, but it wasn't all that accessable so I went for the simple route. I'm happy. My biggest concern was strength and this thing is solid as can be.

I finally had a chance to take somer pics of the finished install:
