What IS it about little girls, hiding in dad's "tool" cabinets?!?!

Here's mine last spring, while I was working on my Stack-On gun cabinet. ;)

THAT said, I wish I had your cabinets, to compliment my garage! A friend of mine - Kevin Johnson, of Johnson Tactical, LLC - just took a new job in Seattle a couple months ago. He'd done quite a bit of 'smitty work for me the last few years, as 'smittys who actually KNOW the AR rifle platform in Pittsburgh are few & far between. He actually had an industrial drill press (damn thing was as big as a Toyota!!!) and lathe, and turned his own custom rifle barrels.

As my 18" SPR was the LAST rifle he ever built, before moving, I was commenting - as I brought by some pieces for the final assembly - how much I'd love to have his worktable. He said, "for $150 - it's yours!" Well, one thing led to another, and... well... here's SOME of his old shop, now in my garage!

Stainless steel, about 8' long, and the big industrial vise clamp came with it (also a delrin AR upper block, and a box of "assorted" ammo!).

The Ryobi drill press was already mine, but the Table Top sander was another $25, as was the band saw! Cub Scout Pinewood derby Cars don't stand a CHANCE, now!!! :p

https://theultimatejeep.com/notfound.png Had this laying around for a while (12 ton) - finally got a place to set it up!

It's probably more set up for 'smitty work at this point, but that's not to say you COULDN'T work on an XK as well...

BTW - since you're dying to see it anyways; the LAST rifle built by Johnson Tactical. http://www.theultimatejeep.com/images/icons/icon10.png

My daughter LOVES riding in my Jeep so far. She just turned 6, and she loves to either sit in the front seat (which she NEVER wanted to do in mom's van or my old Grand Marquis), or in the very back - so she can get in through the tailgate!

Haven't started changing my own oil yet (now that I have a vehicle I can crawl under again!), but I can't wait 'til the first time she comes in the house all gritty & oily. Mom will doubtless have a large-type cow!

Well i finally got the chance to mount them on the walls. I couldnt span the whole wall so i stacked one of them. After i make a table fpr the top it should makr a suitable work table. And i still have to paint the doors lol.

We built a huge shed last spring and what a difference it made to my garage man. Build a shed and stick all the wife and kids's stuff in that.

Thats exactly my plan... i hope to have all the door painted up the end of the weekend. And a tabletop and back board by the next weekend. Prob get a shed after we do our taxes so i can move out all the junk lol and a few dump runs for some old jeep parts and stuff i dont use anymore

What kind of bench you going to get? Metal or Wood? I have a spot picked out for a bench but not sure what to get, I want to put at a minimum a really nice vice on it I miss having vice and a combo bench grinder :) I'm leaning towards a metal bench so I can weld on it.

Id really like metal but prob get wood.

My neighbor/ inlaw works for a elevator company. If they redo any half doors he going to bring me one 2'x 7' stainless steel

Yea it would make for a nice work bench/ welding table.
If i get one since i do t have alot of room ill prob work out some type of wall mount on a hinge with some folding legs so when im not useing it it eill be out of the way... like one of thoae weird beds haha

Ya that's a good idea if you have limited floor space :)

Not much at all if i get the vehicles in there... i can back the jeep up till the tire hits the wall and theres less then 2' to the garage door and tje car doors are close
