Finally sold my bike after mulling it over in my head for some months. I went for a ride last week and could hardly walk after I got off my bike so that was it for me its gone. I guess I'll have to buy a bike with a big fat cushy seat on it now.

Yep, I know how you feel. I used to go to your neck of the woods a couple of times a year until I sold it in September 2004. First bike I ever bought new. Built the engine before it had 50 miles on it.

i've been riding for about 15 years now, but i'm over it. i enjoy building them more than riding them.

here's the last couple i did...

i had the bobber for thrashin' and th bagger for the long trips.


the bobber was a 99 sporty with a 74" motor, N4 cams, 40mm mikuni with jockey shift and suicide clutch. nothing quite as scary as pulling the front wheel with your hand on the shifter and foot coming off the clutch.... the bagger was an 01 with 88" motor, big cams and carb and all the go fast goodies... 850lb bike with me and my chic on it and i could smoke the back tire through 1st and second gear. both were done with old school pinstriping VonDutch style, and my bagger had hand laid silver leaf.

I love those pipes and spoke front wheel on the bobber. Did you bend the up yourself?

those pipes were actually from paughco and just took a little tweak here and there to work, i bent up the sissy bar from solid stainless stock and tig welded it all, the rear fend was from a heritage that we had almost 8 hours into. we had to split, section and tig weld it all together. the suicide shifter was made from rebar and all tig welded too, i had entirely too many hours in that thing to make any money, but again, i was in it more for the hobby than the profit.
