I do not think any forums have an account deactivation button, If you are receiveing notices you do no twant simply go into the subscriptions section and unsubscribe.

It's not only the notifications, I am removing myself from a few forums. I will remain active on JG thought.

Banning memebrs who leave has a negative effect on the forum as a whole. When a visitor sees a lot of banned members they may get the opinion that this forum is not the place for them.

When a member leaves (as they are free to do) they just slip away but their posts and comments remain for the good of the forum.
