Seems like the number of superlifted members has been growing.

So if you're one of them, post up and throw in a pic

Well I will be getting it this week and the I have to inventory the parts to make sure I have everything. I also have to wait for a couple more pieces to arrive to do the conversion. And have a good few days to do the instal! Probably a couple weeks from now. I had better have it done by the end of march or something is seriously wrong!!!

This the when it was installed, Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels

This is the most recent, stock wheels w/ wheel spacers. The Mickey T's just rubbed way to much for my taste.

It's coming along. The bumpers aren't quite finished yet, so the pwdercoat is yet to come. They WILL be done by the Ultimate Jeep Summit in May!

Omelet - how did the install go? Looking forward to pictures! Has SL modified the rear lower control arm brackets? I know there was some talk on that.

It's been a while since I've checked in, but I still have the XK and the SL continues to work great. It's been installed for four years and about 51,000 miles now. My only modification to the actual kit itself was to remove the rear lower brackets since they hang me up on everything and replace the factory lower control arms with the adjustable BDS arms. Clearance problem solved!

Your XK looks great Kmax! Awesome Bud!

I am almost finished with mine. Up front I chopped one coil off the bottom of my OME HD coils, left the preload plate out, used the SL 4" spacer, kept the OME struts, and am still using the HM Engineering Chromoly UCA.

https://theultimatejeep.com/images/imported/2012/04/77bdacb9-1.jpg

In the rear I used all of the SL components along with a couple extras I have been using for a while now (Rusty's adjustable track bar, Fox shocks, and 1.5" spacers). As you can see SL did finally replace the LCA drop brackets (anchors) with new LCAs. They are .5" longer than the OEM arms and have a bend to keep the sway links from smacking them.

The end result is a 25" hub to fender measurement sitting over my old 295/70/17 Nittos. I have 35s in the garage that will go on soon. :D

There are still a few more mods to make before it is trail ready, but it is so close! Which is good because it has been too long since I have wheeled!!!

Wow - that is a thing of beauty! My boss has an '07 WK - he'll be quite jealous when I show him the pics of your rig. Glad to see SL got rid of the brackets - you'll never know how frustrating it was to get caught up on a 12" ledge because of the stupid things! The BDS arms are very similar in profile, just wish they'd use standard rubber bushings insteady of poly but no big deal. Once you're off road - get some action shots!

Thanks guys! Up front I gained 3" of down travel over my last setup. In there rear I didn't gain any additional down travel since I was already using 28" extended shocks. But now that I have the SL UCA brackets I am planning on getting a set of 31" extended shocks. I also want to use rear arms with flex joints so it will articulate better, but that probably won't happen soon unless I find a killer deal.
Kmax I am glad they got rid of those anchors too. Everyone I talked to complained about them. They were a stupid idea. They were one of the reasons I waited until now to get the SL. I will be sure to got some action shots up. I am hoping to hit a trail in the next couple weeks!

Those arms were one of the reasons I was holding out too. Now they need to offer an upgraded strut for the front and finally supply a "complete" kit. (Leave the spacers for the base package like they do for all of the other platforms they support)

Haha! Thanks guys!

I just marked exactly one coil:

Then cut it off with an angle grinder:

Then I cleaned up the end and pained it!

Yeah now I see they are comp tires. thats really cool, I bet they grip like hell

Omelet
04-17-2012, 03:33 PM
Thanks guys! Yes they are comp tires (KR). They come lightly grooved with a basic pattern, and once the different teams get them they custom groove them however they desire. The tram that did these used two different patterns. One is their dirt cut (I got 4 of those) and the other is their mud cut (I got 1 of those as a spare and you can see it on the driver rear). They are designed to be mounted white letters out (which I love) because the outer lugs are long and skinny for corner grip (I can totally vouch for that :D ).

07JeepXK

So your rear tires have two different patterns??

Omelet
04-17-2012, 08:49 PM
They did, i got the fourth one off the beadlock and it is now in the place of the mud cut.
