How about a thread for us people that take their rigs to the beach?!

Location - North End (freeman park), Carolina Beach

So I live in Wilmington, NC and we have a beach here that you can drive out on. Called "Freeman Park" or the North End to us locals.

I know Sal comes down here as well to do some fishing, its a great place.... until about middle of summer. It gets crazy busy with all the tourists.

Well me and the wife went out on Saturday and you would have thought it was tourist season with all the people getting stuck out there. Mostly it seemed the sand was really soft, but a lot of folks seemed to be breaking down/losing 4 wheel drive. Even saw a dodge charger think they could try to make it out there.. they quickly turned around before they hit the sand, lol.

And does anyone else have this "trend" going on?? Large Silverado/f-150/Sierras etc lifting only the front of their truck, with super loud exhaust?? It is the most annoying thing to me, looks so dumb. Anyways down here its called "Carolina Squat" lol. Anyways this guy had a huge sticker on his truck "Keep Hatin' ". It was awesome because he just buried the mess out of his truck :D

Yeah i hate that trend in the full-size world... for some reason everyone likes the front being 2-3" higher than the rear. It's even better when they're "cali style" with 15" of lift, the front 6" higher than the rear, and 33" tires that don't even come high enough to match the running boards. I bet that white silverado that's stuck is a member of one of the fullsize forums im on

I see a lot of those big trucks getting suck. It's like they want to go a little faster than everyone else so they keep in in 2WD rear, because you can't go but a certain speed in 4lo. Anyway, as soon as patrol comes around they slow down, lose momentum and BAM - stuck. I cruise at about 10-15 stop and go as I please. I like to feel the Jeep driving on the dunes and stuff so.. I'm a cruiser on Sand (but I cruise just about everywhere)

Haven't been to the beach in some time! But here's a relic from the past before I started modding up for wheeling season. This is near Goose Creek in Carolina.

Wow, never driven on Corolla, it looks nice out there.

Sal - I have never seen any people riding horses on the beach before! I been here for 10 years, crazy.

Keep the pics coming - West Coast guys have any beaches to drive on?

The first thing I thought of was are they going to pic the dung up if one of those horse let's one go. LOL the eco nuts in Cali probably have the beaches shut down to anything fun. LOL

As you can see in my pics, up in Corolla, the horses have free range. You always see em on the beach. But they are " wild " horses, not some horse being ridden on the beach by someone. The one in my pic had the carport locked down. He would not let me near my cooler and that cooler had beer in it. We almost had horse steaks that night for dinner. :)

The one offroad spot I regret not getting to before leaving CA.. Pismo Beach. Since I haven't been there no pics, so here is one of the first ones that shows up when you search for Pismo Beach Jeep..

Opps.. yea this beach is one you can actually go out and camp on.. a lot of people bring out dune buggies, quads and such..

and if I'm not mistaken the raised front over the height of the rear thing is pre-runner style.. lots of 2wd pre-runner setup trucks running around in CA/AZ for all kinds of high speed desert play.

Why would you even attempt to bring something that heavy into the sand....wow

Yeah, but it seems around here it is more of a "street" thing. Super loud exhaust, lots of Bass in the stereo, green or purple headlights and tinted all around. Oh and almost all of them run Nitto Mud Grapplers.

If it was a pre runner ting I wouldnt bash them so much, but these trucks are 4x4 z71's etc - just silly to me. Anyways.. that rant is for another thread haha
