Those are nice wish they had more back space.

I really like those wheels. How do you think they would look on a Steel Blue Metallic XK with 285/70R17 MT/R's with Kevlar?? Do you know if these will clear the front brake calipers? I heard that the Cragar Soft 8 which is very similar wheel, has an issue up front even though its a 17 inch wheel and needs 1/4 inch spacers up front to run them.

More back space?? They have 4.5 inches of back spacing. How much farther would you want them to sit out??

BonesWK

I would think at least a 1/4" spacer is required

Really why would you think that? I hope not..lol just ordered them

you just bought the wheels?

I think I saw someone on JF running Cragars and said he needed a 1/4" spacer because of the caliper setup on our rigs

Spacers added to a wheel with 4.5" backspace??? Or did he have a set with 6" backspace?

About 10" LMAO no I think I got confused again which is always the case with wheel specs for some reason because 4.5 sticks out further then 5.5 correct?

according to the web site there still available but that's a North Carolina forum just letting you know.

Yeah, I saw that. I sent him a message asking if he would ship. I don't mind paying the cost of shipping. But it kind of sounds like 07JeepXK talked to him 15 mins before I sent him a message. Though he may have also order them from another place because he is in NY. If he doesn't want to ship, I could always get my friends in NC to pick them up for and drop them off when they are in Jersey or when I head down there this summer.

speaking of steelies... someone on JF just put some on his WK. I asked about spacers, no reply yet http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/what-did-you-do-your-wk-xk-today-1167146/index273.html#post13462078

I just ordered a set from quadratec.com I was just about to order new 1.5 inch wheel spacers and noticed this post. Love the wheels especially since they are matte black. So I decided against the wheel spacers and pulled the trigger on the wheels. I hope they fit without that 1/4 inch spacer up front. Tires tomorrow!

Yes spacers added. But it was a 1/4 inch spacer added to a wheel with 4.5 inches of back spacing cause it still didnt clear the caliper. I believe its an issue with the cragar soft 8 17x8.

If I bought off quadratec, I would only be able to afford 4 of them. Hoping shipping wouldn't be more then 150$, that would make the cost for set of 5 cost as much as 4 would if I bought them new. Also, I would need to try and sell the stock wheels to offset the price a little after I get them put on.

Looks like I can get 4 for $380 shipped from Morris4X4. or $470 shipper for 5. After selling my stock wheels, they probably wouldn't be far off from the price I would pay to get some spacer. I guess I'll need to think about it for a little bit, money is pretty tight right now. Not sure if it worth it just yet. Let me know if you have problems putting them on without the 1/4 spacers.

Winston Salem... Hmmmm I'm in Greenville untill Tuesday next week, but my Jeep will be full of my last stuff from moving... But I think I'll take my friends car that gets 48mpg, lol.

edit: He's on the other side of Greensborro - that's even better. Because I won't have to backtrack. I'll be in Raleigh. But Tobes, if you wanna grab some lunch or something that's cool! Hope these don't sell :D

edit 2: I finally found my old log in on that forum. I sent him a PM.

Yeah... given the same width 4.5 will stick out an inch further than 5.5

I got a hold of him and I lett'm know that if they are still arouhd, id take'm.. But it looks like he's also trying to sell the tires. So im not sure if he's interested in my offer.. I'll get back with him on Sunday, see if he really wants to get rid of those.

Yeah... given the same width 4.5 will stick out an inch further than 5.5

I did the math in my head earlier and if I'm correct, my new setup with these wheels and 285/70s, should stick out exactly an inch farther then my current setup. The wider tires are figured into that.

Just tried test fitting the wheels. They dont clear the caliper bracket. There is not enough lip of the inside where the wheel mounts to the wheel bearing/hub assembly. The wheels that guy has on his WK are a totally different wheel. Now I have to figure out what im going to do. Do I get 1/4 spacers or see if they will take the wheels back. The guy at quadratec said they would work on my XK.

If he said they would fit then it's there fault and should take them back. I ran 1/4 spacers up front for awhile with no issues but it did bug me knowing they were there.

How long did you run the 1/4 inch wheel spacers and do you think its a bad idea? I called Fred Goeske at wheeladapter.com and he can make me up a set of 1/4 inch wheel spacers, hub/wheel centric and have them to me by tomorrow for $100. After speaking to him I called quadratec and they said they will pay for the wheel spacers and refunded my card $100.

That's pretty cool of them to do that. I didn't run the hub centric it was the old school plain spacer that's why i didn't like it at all. I still had a lot of thread to grab with the lug nuts but it still bugged me. I did some wheeling and took a trip with them on they were fine probably had them about 5 months and just had them on the front it didnt cause any issues for me at all.

Its all good. I got custom 1/4 wheel spacers made yesterday (hub centric to XK hub, wheel centric to the black rock wheels) from Fred Goeske in California and they were sent overnight to my house. They are on vehicle for delivery as we speak! The tires are being mounted on the wheels as we speak and will get installed on XK tonight as long as everything works out.

Just the front. The wheels clear fine in the rear. Im not really a fan of the 1/4 inch spacers for safety reasons, and really didnt want to go this route. That was the whole purpose of buying the wheels. But what can you do. The spacers are both hub/wheel centric so that will make me not worry as much about them being installed. Also I dont think the front sitting out 1/4 inch more will be all that noticable. Oh...and I just got an email on my phone, the spacers are at my house now! 24 hours ago they were just a block of aluminum sitting in cali.

Man that dude is fast! No I wouldn't worry about those spacers at all like I said mine where just a piece of metal with holes in them LOL I also never really noticed the front wheels being out that much either couldn't even tell in rain or mud tracks they had spacers so I think you will be fine man. Can't wait to see this all put together bro!

Well the wheels the WK owner had were a totally different wheel than these. His didn't require a spacer. The black rock series 997 do.
