I just picked up some QuickFist clamps that I'm going to mount to my crossbars and roof rack. Figure these will be perfect for my trip to OBX to carry a shovel and the fishing poles... And instead of poles, ill carry an axe while wheeling/camping.

Will post up pics once installed.

What are you guys using?

I just throw the shovel in the back, really need to look into something else.

$10 for the QuickFist set... then just find a place to bolt it.

Because I have unistrut bars mounting stuff is real easy I just bolt stuff on as needed.

That's actually what I'm bolting these to. Then its like having a universal holder up there.

I keep a full sized shovel and ax on the roof rack. I just bought large heavy duty springs from a hardware store. No rattle, and they don't sun rot like bungees.

These worked out quite well although i had to alter my installation plans a bit due to shovel handle length and load bar locations. Basically ended up using some SS clamps to secure the quickfist to the rack, then wrapped a few rounds of electrical tape just to hide the shiny metal.... and whaaalllaaaaaa

not trying to derail thread or knocking any mounts. i just take my e-tool along. it does a great job while camping or wheeling and takes up virtually no room. just a thought. by the way, this is an e-tool

Ive still got to get some of these quikfist clamps, even found a vendor local that stocks them!

Sometimes those folding shovels just cant reach what you need to dig!
