from everything I have heard it is best to stick with the OEM ones.

I have been running Autolite iridiums for 82,000 miles in my Hemi with great results. I'm going to be changing them soon.

I would recommend just staying with the oem. Depending on which motor you have. I have the 4.7 liter and have had about 5 different sets of plugs and am now back to the oem champion plugs.

I just bought a new set of Autolites Iridiums on eBay. 16 plugs for $90. BTW, there's a nice rebate running. Go to the Autolite website to see. I'll get $32 back on the 16 plugs I bought. Sweet!

I have the Denso iridium plugs. Spent too much but they have been great plugs. It took 4+ hours to change the 16 plugs (for me - I am a mechanic wannabe) so I thought the iridium might last 50-60K instead of the recommended 30K miles

I went ~90k on my first set of iridiums, and they still looked good when I pulled and replaced them.

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee with hemi. I was told I have iridiums and that they are standard in all 2014 hemi's. Service dept at dealer checkd my VIN to veryify I had iridiums. He said they are good for 100,000 miles. Prior to 2014 only police package hemi's were equiped whth iridiums.
I already have it in my head that I want a 2020 Grand Cherokee so (I'm old and this will be my last hurrah)I'm sure I'll have the new one before I reach 100,000 miles on this one.
Maybe by 2020 they will wise up and produce another Commander. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I changed mine at around 90k, and dang were they shot, haha :D I have no idea is any of the previous owners had ever changed the plugs. 30k seems reasonable to me. Heck why not? <$20 for Champion stock replacements.

Changed mine @ 60k, because that's when I bought it. ALMOST to 80k now - got a while 'til the next batch.

If you are running OEM copper plugs, change every 30k miles. If you run iridiums, you can change every 100k miles!

Well that's what I THOUGHT, but I wasn't sure. I switched to NGK iridiums when I changed mine at 60k.

I have the 4.7 with the copper plugs. can somebody help me verify what the gap should be? I am double checking. thanks

Matt

Easiest way to double check is look at the placard on the underside of the hood. It'll list the gap and spark plug part number under the engine specs.

Time for new plugs for me - looks like NGK IX Iridium are now the plugs for us.
