Hello brothers, I got a couple texts from some of you aking about me so feel free to spread the word, Im doing great. I graduated from BCT today and thought id drop some words on you guys before im without a phone again. Basic was def one of the most challenging things ive ever done, but wouldnt change a thing about it. I hope all of you and your awesome Jeeps are in great health. I'll still be in Ft Benning for another 13 weeks for OCS, but I'll be off for two weeks in Christmas. Take care.

X-mass exodus is a double edge sword your grateful for the break but then it sucks because it adds two weeks to your time LOL. You should have a lot more freedom in OCS. You're actually considered a soldier at this point not a recruit.

Yeah... We were reminded that SEVERAL times today. for two months DS's told us what and how and when. In OCS, just in the 8hrs ive been here they remunded us we are no longer privates. To ask questions and think for ourselves... Basically to start taking over leadership. The cadre are pretty down-to-earth. And to those wishing me luck and etc, I appreciate it a lot. I miss jumping on here and hanging with ya'll. Every ones advice continues to be extremely useful.

It great to hear from you AJ! I'm glad all is well and a big thanks for your service man. Sometimes I think I should have went into the service but then I remember how much of a goof ball I am. I'd be in trouble majority of the time, lol.

Lol - im a goof. For people in their late 20's... We have more maturity than most of the teens coming in. Basic didnt 'change' me but taught me the ability to turn on the discipline switch when things get hot. There are guys who still struggle with just the basics.

Hello again guys. Well, I know it seems like last week I just started, but I am quickly approaching the halfway mark of OCS. I submitted a pretty awesome memo to hopefully branch engineer, and hopefully I should be able to pick the environmental engineer path. I'm pretty confident I'll get it after talking to the BC, so all's good. My second choices are CBRN and a couple in Logistics. Keep me in yall's thoughts! finley out!

Whats the reasoning for CBRN? I used to instruct skill level 1 CBRN to all deploying Soldiers from the NY ARNG and had a blast doing but some days it got old.

My schooling was in environmental science and health for undergrad and grad. My natural talent lies in the area of biology, chemistry, Radiation training and protection across various media including soil, water and air.

We did our branching ceremony today. It was fun. I'm proud to say I got exactly what I wanted. Actually, I was at a toss-up between engineer and chemical, So I would have been pretty happy if I got either one of these. But I branched Chemical today. I'll be in Ft Leonard Wood, MI in early March. For those of you near this area, I look forward to meeting some of you!

Just wanted to thank you guys for your continued support. I still keep in touch with some of you on the phone but wanted to let the forum know, especially since you guys are like an extended family.

The hurdles of OCS have been cleared and ive passed the remaining exams left. I commission in May.
