I'd love to see some pictures of this as well. My bent up oem front skid got cut up and used as the a-pillar mount for my snorkel

Well you may not have to wait to long, my OEM is rusted and Horrible looking so I may splurge and buy this.. Does it go over the bottom of the bumper like the 4xGuard or no? I hate how the bottom of core support is so exposed even to small rocks getting thrown up into it..

The front of our skid attaches to the radiator support. A skid will be designed to run between the bumper and the front skid when the new design of the bumper is completed if needed.

Any idea in the time frame for that additional piece? That's honestly the only appealing part of 4xGuard, I'd like to keep all SA skids from here on..

It is our plan to work out all teh XK & WK bumpers in March, skids will be part of that process.

Is this the v2 (is v2 correct?) bumper with the redesigned thinner winch area? Does this skid go from the bottom of the bumper to the rear of the engine bay? or will a stock skid be used in conjunction?

Yes, The V2 will turn the winch plate to feet forward for a shorter front exposure. The additional skid will then either be part of the bumper or be a small skid that extends from the bottom of the bumper to the radiator support and ties into our front skid plate at that point.

Looking forward to seeing the V2 design . Don't forget to try tying them into the stock fender flares a bit better, like trialbyfires bumper. The V1 design was built to match your S/A front fenders and would look strange on an XK with standard flares (though I know we'll need to cut the flares, but thats all good)

Also can't wait to get my rear bumper so i can get that spare tire out of my trunk :)

Excellent! Do you anticipate a cost increase? I will be following the development of this bumper very closely.

Price will depend on steel prices at time of construction.

I've been trying to see a pic of the front skid mounted for a few months now, someone has to have one mounted up

Awesome, finally a decent pic of it installed. What's the difference between your skid and the ASFIR unit exactly?

I currently have a 4XGuard front skid and like how it wraps up towards the bumper that extra couple of inches above the radiator support, but I hate how it ends right at the cross member leaving all that area exposed. Decisions, decisions...

Not much, a few minor changes in pattern and bend so as not to be a "copy" and you save a few dollars too.

Sounds good to me...I like what I'm seeing in the Facebook pics, it looks pretty good!
Has the small issue with the oil drain plug been resolved?

Do you have any aluminum skids in stock?
