View Full Version : Knappster's Gun Locker
Went to the Crossroads gun show today and picked up a AR-15 lower to go with my upper. Now I need to take some photos before the boat sinks.

Nice, are you putting it together yourself? I'm having one made waiting on my upper and bolt carrier..

I purchased the upper for $700 from a WK owner and then the lower for $450 at the show. Now I need a Tax Stamp and I am ready to roll.

$450! Wow. They used to be had for $60-$100. Tough times for gun buyers. Even with the high prices there are more first time gun owners and chl/ccw permits being obtained than ever before. Our president sure is a great salesman.

Well at least part of the price is the stock and trigger. I was thinking you meant a bare lower. Although $300 ain't exactly cheap either.
Did you go with a regular trigger assembly? Ive been thinking about getting a timiney or other drop in precision trigger for mine. I dont think the standard trigger beaks clean enough to do distance varmiting.

Basic trigger, I may update it later and change out the grip. My next purchase will be some type of red dot sight, friend suggested Aim Point.

I put a bushnell red dot on mine. It did the job. I just swapped out for a scope for better distance. I've kept the rings mounted to the red dot though for easy switch out.

Class III? Must be nice to live somewhere that is NOT communist... unlike the People's Republic if Madistan.

AZ is a great place to live for gun owners. No CC, Open carry...
But now I wait of the federal government for 6 to 8 months for a $200 piece of paper that allows me to own a short barrel rifle.

Wisconsin has open carry, and finally at least a license for concealed carry. We can even own class three items, but there is no way I could ever get the Madison police chief or Dane County sheriff to sign off on it... Guess I need to move to the Northwoods. or AZ!
That is a nice looking SBR. I like that CZ as well. Hell, they're all nice ;)
Looks like I added a few more things to my gun locker this week:

Congrats !
Great Mag... even better you are getting them shipped and at a reasonable price !!
I just checked your site and still see this > "Due to demand far outpacing supply, we are unable to accept new orders for PMAG’s at this time".

So Jon, Have you gotten your stamp for the SBR yet?
I just filed 2 form 1's last week to build a couple sbr's and the wait is already driving me crazy! It's going to be a LONG wait...
I used the new eFile system online which in theory should take maybe a month less than mailing in the paperwork and a check. With the traditional method the check usually took about a month to clear and it wasn't until the check cleared that the application status was changed to submitted/pending as I understand it. eFile took a credit card payment and immediately put my paperwork into submitted/pending.

In addition to closing down the last lead plant in America - the one that made lead for BULLETS  - Der Kommissar Obamassar has directed the BATmen to close the Trust... "loophole"...... so ALL Class III/NFA paperwork has slowed to a crawl, just the way the hoplophobe leftards prefer it.
My college wingman got a trust established, JUST before the BATmen closed in. That was in March, and his paperwork ain't back, either. It's a race to see which gets done first - the latest batch of work on my RC, or HIS NFA paperwork...

That's why I did my trust and submitted two lowers last week. I hope that nothing comes of the proposed rule change, but if something negative does, all submissions before the change *should* be grandfathered.
If you haven't done so, BATFE is seeking comments through Dec 9 for the proposed rule change. Go to http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=ATF-2013-0001-0001 and click on the "comment now" button, upper right, and make your voices heard!
Brendon, can you e-mail me a sample trust I can submit for my other three lowers and my silencer?
Here is a peak at what I am working on now:

If you file for NFA items via eform, looks like the wait is currently about 4-5 months versus almost about 9 months for paper. Now if only the stupid eform website would stop crashing so the store can submit my two form 4's and I can check the status on my form 1's.
What??? A government website that doesn't work?!? I'm shocked.
I forget which suppressor that is, I almost bought it but went with a Saker 556 instead.
