Bed lining the fenders

I'm gonna be bed lining my fenders tomorrow and I really don't wanna have to break the rivets and order more so has anyone done it with the fenders still on and if so any tips

Take 1" masking tape and slide it down between the flare and were it meets the fender then use 2" masking tape and masking paper and mask off everything around it and you should be good!
