Mark was so kind to come by today and make me wish, yet again, that I had the Superlift. I was actually surprised to see how much of a difference there was between my OME HD+ (the + means additional lift on top of the OME HD springs) vs his Superlift.

So now I know... my planned Superlift+ will be significantly larger:cool:

Note our tire sizes aren't that much different. His were ~3/4" taller.

Almost makes me want to hold out a little longer for the SuperLift.

So with the difference in tires size means that he only has 3/4" more ground clearance than you?

Edit: I guess what I'm looking for is the difference in ground clearance between the two.

We've been down this road before. It's more than ground clearance, it's also suspension travel.

Yeah, as it sits he has
- 1" more breakover clearance (but hell, 1" is a bigger rock!)
- approx 3" more down travel
- flat suspension angles (saves CV's, steering rack, balljoints & tie rods)
- the ability to add 1" more lift and bigger tires as well if he chooses.

Next to an XK with a modified superlift running 34s, there'd be significant clearance advantages. Thats what i plan on running,

Yea i knew you are after suspension travel but I was jsut curious as to the ground clearance.

PM coming your way off topic.

Yeah the breakover comparison as shown is only about an inch. But its still more than I was expecting.

Having a WK, you can squeeze some 35s in there with a superlift+ kit and destroy both of those XK's in the ground clearance department!

This is true. I want a superlift too BUT 3.07 gears don't like big tires, LOL. Maybe I can get around to installing those 3.73's and go big one day....

I think your XK would be killer on some 35's.

Get this boy some ice packs, 'cause he's got da fever!

Remember your trans makes up for the 3.07 gears. You put those 3.73s in you'll practically be set for 35s.

Wow that's a bigger difference than I thought but both look great! How big is the difference in gearing between the NAG1 and the 545FRE? I always wanted to go Superlift some day but just run 33's out of fear that drive-ability would be poor with anything larger.

NAG1--NAG1 With 3.07 Final Drive Ratio
3.59----11.02
2.19----6.72
1.41----4.33
1.00----3.07
0.83----2.55

545RFE--545RFE With 3.73 Final Drive Ratio
3.00-----11.19
1.67-----6.23
1.00-----3.73
0.75-----2.79
0.67-----2.49

So you can see that the 3.07 really doesn't put you at a gearing "disadvantage" since the trans gearing equalizes it.

If anything, consider yourself lucky since you can re-gear to 3.73s, which happens to put you back to stock ratios when running 35s!

Wow I didn't know it was that much more aggressive. I already have 3.73 gears and the NAG1 transmission so I guess I'm already good to run 35's with relative easy, right?

Speed Vs RPM wise you'll be back to stock if you slap on some 35s, but there's still a lot of mass to get rolling so you'll feel that when the light turns green. Considering you have the 3.0L though, I think you're good to so since the torque curve is pretty flat.... so yeah, i'd say you won't have an issue at all.

I wana put mine next to the superlift! Unfortunately there are no lifted commanders really anywhere near me haha. There is a guy that has a zone 4" lift with 33" Mickey Thompson mt's on his and mine is significantly bigger than his.

Matt

From what ive seen, the Zone kit is really only 3".

Yeah I know that's what I've heard/seen as well. But like I said, mine still towers over his. He's running brand new Mickey Thompson 33x12.5 and has no rubbing so I don't know. If I recall, those tires run just a bit larger than advertised?

lol you're also not running a lift that anyone should run :p

Hey, it's just temporary!
