Looking for something a little more carry friendly. The M&P Compact fits the bill - can carry, but good home defense gun. XD is a great gun, just a little too heavy/bulky for EDC. I wish it weight like a glock 19, but its like 10 oz. heavier.

Even the XDM or XD SC are still a bit heavy.

Since this is my only gun right now I need something that can fit both roles. I know down the road I will own a Shield or XDS sized gun for strictly carry.

Ill be moving to NC soon so Ill be purchasing an XDS soon after.. That M&P is a nice gun to hold though, thats next on my list after the XDS

Decided to keep the 9.

I think I will just get a G27 or equivalent for my personal carry down the road. My XD9 suits better for the wife to shoot for home defense.

Good choice! Im sure if you do som research you could find a lightly used on for good deal..
