My name is Brad and I'm with Jeepin by Al (http://jeepinbyal.com/) . We were coming out with tubular upper control arms with replaceable Spicer ball joints. These will be available for various height lifts, or stock, or even lowered (gasp, lol) applications for WK/XK.

They are not in production yet, and we will not be taking orders until then.

I will be at the Flagpole gathering this weekend and will be bringing a set of lifted liberty a-arms and literature with me. This will give you and idea of what the final product will look like once it is available. Since they are also in the design phase I will hear out any suggestions. Again, I won't be taking orders, but would love to get any feedback and talk to other XK/WK owners.

Here is my number. Its not a company number, just a way to get ahold of me at the outing.

Will these be any stronger then the oem UCA's?

Are you bending up stock ones??

They should be every bit as strong if not stronger than the originals, but remember...

..the idea behind these is to correct balljoint angle, camber issues, and make replacing the ball joint cheaper ($20-30) compared to the stock ones.

Sorry, I think I worded it wrong. I meant to say will the ball joint be any stronger then the oem ones?

If the correct camber issues, then I would definately be interested in these at a later date. I hate knowing my camber is off and having the tires cup on the outer tread lugs.

Greasable, replaceable Spicer ball joints.

I'm 99% positive these are stronger than the OEM ones. I'll let you know what application they cross reference to.

This is good. My UCA's and LCA's are pretty shot and will need to be replaced soon. I just had replacing stuff like that with oem parts.

The balljoint is H1 Hummer / 3/4 ton GM, so to answer your question, yeah, they are a bit stronger, lol.

Nice! So can I make the assumption that this H1 ball joint fits into our steering knuckles without modification?

I like them a lot! Will definately be buying a pair of these. So the angle of where the ball joint is mounted is changed from the oem A-arms just for lifted XK's?

The angle is change as well as the centerline distance between the balljoint and the mounting holes to correct the camber issues with alignment.

Those look too nice to install!

Are these for any lift or are they only for larger lifts? I'm running the 2.25" spacer lift, will there be a big difference running these vs stock?

Whats the deal with these, are they available yet? Also did everything go well with the alignemt once installed?

The angle is change as well as the centerline distance between the balljoint and the mounting holes to correct the camber issues with alignment.

Does this effect anything with the alignment during up and down travel of the suspension system with a shorter centerline distance?

Yes they are available, go to the website to find more into

No more of an issue during up and down than the stock set up.

Nice! Definately going to need these. I just got new tires a few weeks back and dont want to have the same issues with the outter lugs wearing faster due to not being able to get it aligned properly.

ruquik,
when you had the OEM UCA out, before installing the JBA A-Arms, any chance you took any photos of them together for a side by side comparision? Just wondering. They look pretty heavy compared to OEM one in these two photos.

I know these are set up to have joint easily replaceable, but I wondering if you have any of these failing? are would the joint be easily replaceable on the trail?

With front sway bar disconnected, these joints would be taking all the stress at the max downward travel limit. I just wonder if these are set up to hand this stress? i know they fix the angle issues, which is nice and helps relieve the normal stresses on this area, but its the offroad aspect that i am interested learning more about.

Well the balljoints are H1,3/4 ton GM

No failures

4 bolts and the large nut

I think the strut on your lift is still the limiting factor, not the ball joint
