Well, my family and I are on our way from New Jersey to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We left early yesterday afternoon and just past Birmingham, AL.

So far the Superlifted XK is doing very well. Mileage is good at 15-16 mpg @ 80+ mph with 3 people and their luggage. I'm extremely happy we put those adjustable upper control arms to correct the rear pinion angle. Thanks to Matt for brains and braun in making that happen before my trip!!!

If I get a chance for some nice Jeep shots, I'll post.

Next stop... Baton Rouge.

Very cool man. Have a great trip!! Looking forward to some stories when you get back.... maybe we can get together, lets the kids play, and actually just hang out for once instead of rip apart our Jeeps :)

Zetas...? Maybe I'll trade in the XK for a Mexican special armored WK2. I kid you not... There's a version of the WK2 that is armor plated and has balistic glass.

I'm deep in the heart of Texas now, 100 miles east of San Antonio. Just had a Texas burger for lunch.

You have to do a technical write-up on it for the rest of us on it. :p

A long drive in Texas.... I'm thinking you are probably going through Laredo... ?.... If by chance you end up on the East side of So Texas close to Hwy 77 let me know and I'll get your next Texas lunch !!

Have a good and safe trip !

Well, it would be pretty cool to meet up with a forum bro. We almost went down rt 77 instead of the Laredo route. Where's the crossing over there, McAllen? How busy is it?

The town on the other side of the border from McAllen is Hidalgo.
Farther East is Brownsville/Matamoros.

Sorry I'm not sure how busy either of them are. I live close enough to the border as is and don't want to purposely get any closer at this time .. Lol

When are you planning to head North ? I can PM you my work schedule if you like to make sure I'm in the area when you do.

Also for anyone else if you find yourself out in my neck of the woods ( ok not really any woods around here !) you must be lost and in trouble, so please look me up LOL...

Thanks... I'll have to check with the boss (wife) first about swinging by your way. It sure would be nice, though.

So today we took a little trip to a small traditional Mexican town up in the mountains at about 4600ft. It gave me a chance to take a few gratuitous Jeep posing pics...

We then drove up to the top of a mountain overlooking the town at 8100ft. The Jeep did excellent on the washed out roads and switchbacks getting there, of course.

Oh, I forgot... yesterday was XK to the rescue! Some fellow on an atv couldn't get it started. We pulled him down off the mountain. It was raining and nasty. Score one for the Jeep team!
