On my 09 WK when I press the "ESP off" button, nothing happens, IE the light doesn't come on or anything like that. Any thoughts? Sorry if it's been posted, please direct me if so!

Never heard of anyone having this issue before. Bad fuse maybe??

What happens if you press and hold for ~ 10 seconds?

Try it in both Park and Drive?

Thanks for the replies...tried in P and D, held for 30+ seconds almost.

Hmmm.... check fuse #25 under the dash.

You have any sand/mud nearby where you can get the tires spinning to see if ESP kicks in?

I'll check the fuse...thanks for the tip. Excuse my laziness, but what does fuse 25 protect?

Yeah I could go test it out. That might be more fun.

Thanks.

Its the ESP/ABS fuse. If that's good, and you can get ESP to engage while having some fun.... the switch is probably bad. Can check the switch with an ohmmeter

If the switch is bad does that mean there isn't a way to disable the ESP without pulling the fuse?

Also...maybe this could be related...the button for the outlet in the back doesn't light up.

Yes but you wouldn't want to do that. With the 3.7L and QT-I you'll greatly reduce your offroad capability by pulling the ESP fuse because that'll also disable the BTC which transfers power to the tire with traction (and does it quite well).

Many of us have some bulbs burnt out behind some of the buttons.

When in Park, if you press and hold the ESP button, you should get an "ESP OFF" message on the EVIC.

Sent from wherever my Jeep takes me.

I think the bulb works, as when they key is in the on position the light comes on as a bulb check. Thanks for the tips everyone, keep em coming!!! :D

I think he was referring to the bulb that lights up on the actual traction control button. Not the dash bulb that shows when traction control is turned off

Went for a "drive" in the woods this morning and the ESP/ABS/TC works, so the fuse is good. I'm betting on a bad switch. Taking it into the dealer next week I think and going to have them sort it, it has a 30 day warranty. :D Thanks for the help and suggestions!

Took it to the dealer and they unplugged the panel and reset it (battery disconnect I bet) and it works again. So I hope it stays fixed! :D
