so ive noticed a couple things... im not 100% sure that my fan speed settings are all working properly. obvious the high setting works, but as you turn down the heat- theres really no distinction between the 1-3 settings. any thoughts?

also, when i turn my HVAC system on and off theres a loud pop/snap sound under the passnger side of the dash- kind of like my jeeps telling my its officially turned its HVAC off. it started a couple months ago..

The popping sound is probably the recirculation door gear stripped. Pull out your glove box and you'll see the broken parts. Takes 5-10 minutes to replace.

If the fans blowing in the lower speeds its probably working right.... id fix the recirc door first and go from there

You have to order the whole air inlet housing, pn 68017816AB.... about $30

Look behind your glove box before ordering. Im 90% sure thats your issue but better to verify.

Mine is doing the same thing, guess I'll be looking behind the glove box tonight to check this out.

speaking of heat, does anyone get the blazing hot air come through the little holes in the center console near your right ankle (drivers side) or left ankle (passenger)?

I have yet to figure out why mine does that

So how is replacing this part a 5-10min job? After removing the glovebox, it looks like I need to remove the whole "system in that side to get to the part? Or did you just order the part and swap out the gear? Looks more like an hr or more to pull that whole thing out

You have to order the whole part just to get the gear, you can't buy the gear separately. Then just swap the gear.

I do have the whole assembly. I know what's broke on it- it's the idea of swapping the old with the new- is it really a 10min job? Looked a lot more complicated than that

Swapping the gear is a 10 minute job. Swapping the whole assembly is not.

I would say you should contact with a HVAC contractor to check the issue.
