I figured I'd post a pic here for those of you who are not active on FB.
Someone in Venezuela has installed a solid axle on his WK. Hopefully details are coming. Maybe I can ask him to join the forum and do a write-up for everyone.
I remember seeing this a while ago.... but there was little info available.
Is he active on FB? I'm curious what base platform he used.... was it 2wd/qt1/qt2/qd2?

I remember he used a Dana 30 out of a WJ Grand Cherokee.

It was a QDII wk and he used all of the sensors from a WJ. Apparently it communicated so his dash didn't light up like a Christmas tree. Adam is right he used a D30 from a WJ as well. Not sure what gears he's used but he's running 35s.

If I ever get around to getting some Dana 60's for my RC, maybe I'll put the Dana 44/Chrysler 9 1/4 under MY XK, and put about an 8" lift in it for good measure! https://theultimatejeep.com/images/imported/2013/11/woot2-1.gif
Here's a thread on jeep forum with some more pics:

Looks like he's done a lot more progress of cleaning everything up, looks FANTASTIC!!! Id love to have the skill, time and money to do this although I feel as if you did it yourself the money wouldnt be much more than a modified SL.
^^^^^
I agree about the price. If you could do the fabrication, then the flex/lift with this setup would definitely outweigh any extra cost over the modified SL.
I found a video of it pretty fully flexed out in the jungle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YscU8AGcaE
His XJ is pretty sweet aswell. It's sittin' with a 14" lift, not to mention he swapped in some commander headlights!

This is definitely pretty sweet and yes so is his XJ... Matt I'm sure you could do this over time, he obviously has a lot of time.
