What's everyones first mod going to be this year?

This weekend I'll be putting my rear sway bar back on, but with JKS-2001 disconnects.

Since I haven't technically driven it since putting on all new Bilsteins I'm going to count that as my first 2014 mod!

I'd like to be doing SA sliders, but I may have to end up doing new head unit instead.

A brand new Dogde Powerwagon.

Is that like my brand OLD Ramcharger? :p

I gotta run by the shop today, and see how it's coming along. I went by yesterday, and it's still INSIDE, which is GOOD - that means they're working on it!

No it's like a Dodge Ram on steroids! Come's stock with 32 inch BFG AT's (plenty of room for 33's/34's stock) front and rear lockers (big solid axles), 4.56 gears, 6.4 liter Hemi (410hp) and a 12,000 lb hidden front winch. And it's fully loaded

I don't think the powerwagons ever had the option of the cummins. I'm pretty sure the reason was that the intercooler took up too much space so they couldn't mount the integrated winch. Not to mention the added weight. Also, I thought powerwagons came with 35s from stock?

Edit: never mind, powerwagons have 285/70r17s from stock.

The raptor comes with 35's stock. The 32's I mentioned are on the new 2014 models. As far as the models before that I too thought they had bigger tires. Like a 33 or so

Andrew, just did a lot of research on the PowerWagons and everything I have been reading says that the cummins was never an option. Like state earlier in the thread it's due to the weight of the cummins, the cummins interfering with the electronic sway bar disconnects and the amount of torque going to locked axles with 4.56 gears (many teeth small pinion) = break!

Good thing I didn't buy it then!!! It was definitely a diesel, probably badged a power wagon

Had to be a rebadge- the reason the power wagon never came from the factory with a cummins is there was a clearance issue with the intercooler and the winch behind the front bumper.

Just figure out this years budget- gotta get around $1200 in her before I add the final mod mid year.... A carseat;)

What box are you getting? I might be going that route soon too if I can't afford a larger SUV before our next family vacation.

I got new tires - BF Goodrich Rugged Terrains - 265/70r17. Not the mud terrains I used to but acceptable. These are borderline Street tire/All Terrains. Good enough for 50 miles a day to work and also hitting the trails if and when I ever get around to it!

I also plan to get a rusty's rear track bar.

I cut the protruding bolt threads and the rear of the receiver on the hitch but my spare still won't fit. I'll have to take it off, cut the nuts off (he he... I'd like to do that to some people I know...) and put in carriage bolts from the opposite direction.

I'm not really sure yet...Looking in the 13-16 cubic feet range. Outside of that, kind of shopping on looks, want one that looks sleek. But when I get one there will be plenty of pics. :D

I've got this one (which if you want to make the trip over you can borrow pretty much anytime)

There was enough space left that I built a side rack for a couple trips. (which you or anyone that wants to come pickup can have for free)

My Weathertech floorliners arrived yesterday... 6 mos. TOO late. If I'd known it was gonna be THIS kinda winter, I'd of ordered them in late October... :o

That said, I'm taking it to Ziebart on Monday. I actually enjoy washing, waxing, and detailing it myself, BUT... this winter's gonna kill it, before spring ever gets here. I want all the salt & grime shampooed OUT of the carpet, before I plop the new floorliners over it.

That, and it should be the SHARPEST Commander in Pittsburgh, after THIS winter.

Oh yeah - and my Fastman throttle body is on the way!

Forgot to post this, but I finally finished my HID Projector retrofit a while back.

I really liked the way the new 2014 SRT8s looked with the blacked out grill and headlights flowing together (see picture below). That's where I got my inspiration from. It looks really cool and eye-catching when you see it, especially when it's clean. I plan to follow this theme in the future, but I don't want to black everything out.

This is the Stage III Morimoto H1 kit from The Retrofit Source with 5000k bulbs. I painted some stock replacement housings and mounted the projectors in those. Hopefully I'll remember to get some better pictures, but this is what I've got for now:

Also note, I have not finished painting my grill yet so that's why it looks the way it does.

My first mod of 2014 went in last weekend... a new inside door handle. haha tons of fun.

The problem now is, I am torn between trying to save for mods to the jeep or an AR build... ugh. Society really has turned us into I WANT IT ALL RIGHT NOW.

Nice! Cheaper than what I paid, but there's more snow on the way, today was my day off, and the tax refund is here; I couldn't stand how crappy the inside was looking, after discovering Ziebart coupons last week in the local Thrifty Nickel! :p

I'm guessing this is gonna be the "What did you do to your Ultimate Jeep today - 2014" thread, soooooo... I washed, waxed & detailed mine today!

Since I Ziebarted it in February, that made it a LOT easier. Basically wash and wax, Armor All the trim & tires, and polish the headlamp & foglamp covers. Would like to have cleaned out the sunroof area, but I have a barfy kid this weekend, and he & mom had to run off to the doctor late this afternoon. :(

Couldn't make it to Bantamfest this weekend, either. :(

Yesterday I removed my bull bar (got tired of it) and put the lights behind the grill. They're not very bright so I'm looking for LEDs to replace those with.

Then my friend and I put an LED light bar on the roof rack, ran the wires, and installed the switches.

Thanks! It wasn't a panel but just switches I found that I really liked. That location is where I've always wanted to put them and I got lucky that they fit so I'm not sure where I would have put them had they not.

You don't need to drive in deep water. A really good down poor will be enough to suck water into the filter. By eliminating the extra turns the water has to take, you gave it an easier path to the filter. I was in a heavy enough rain storm a few years back (stock setup) that caused mine to do this. The Jeep actually hesitated because it sucked enough rain in. Think about your shop vac, now imagine you had a 4.7L shop vac LOL I use to find mud drops on my filters (stock setup) from splashing threw small puddles.

And its a waste. Reminds me of the guys at the track that would remove their headlight for their runs.... and it'd make no difference other than them looking silly lol.

I run the oiled filter in my CAI, and I mostly run short hops here in the South Hills (I walk to work, so some days I don't even drive it). 45mph on the main drag for a few miles is about as fast as I get, for about 360 days out of the year. If I suck in enough water to kill it thusly, then it's because the animals are lining up 2 by 2 behind it!
