Put my rear sway bar disconnects on today. The only snag I ran into was not realizing I needed to drill out the upper sleeves to 1/2" ID for the bolt.

A quick trip down the street to my buddies house fixed that. Otherwise the install is pretty straight forward.

The stud mount didn't come with a washer. The stock links don't use washers but they use flange head nuts which prevents the nut from digging in when torqued. So i threw a 7/16" washer on there for peace of mind.

Does the whole link come off, or do you unhook one end and secure the link somewhere (and where?)?

Im going to copy what Ron did and make quickfist mounts to hold the links when disconnected. They come with special studs for "storage" but I didnt see an obvious place to mount them on the xk.

How much were they? I've been thinking about them ever since I saw Jay's wk flex at RC.

$150

You don't need them though.. takes 2 minutes to just take the top bolt out to accomplish the same thing.

But the best part is they are adjustable. I had mine at stock length before I lifted my jeep years ago. Then when I added the 2 inch lift I adjusted them accordingly. Again when I got the 4 inch spring for the rear I was able to adjust them longer once again!

Hey adam when you disconnect the rear do you bungee the bar to one of the lower arms?

No I just disconnect the lower end at the quick disconnect and pivot the end link towards the front of the jeep. Then I tighten the upper bolt about a 1/4 turn which keeps it in place

He had it off and just put it back on because he installed the quick disco's

^^Yup, wanted it back on. New suspension setup rides nice, still firmer than stock but softer than the OME HD setup so i'm trying to reduce body roll...

I took mine completely off this last Summer.

Ever since I installed the SL springs, I've been running the rear with no sway bar. Yesterday I received Stite's SL sway bar links as well. I prolly won't install 'em for a bit, gotta see this thing really flex first!

Glad you got them Ross! I've been running no sway bars front and rear for about a year now! But I don't do much driving at the moment!

I also took the front links off. They are probably not going back on. It cannot articulate at all with that giant sway bay. Doesn't make sense to make an independent suspension and then put a sway bay that big on. But on the other had most never take them off road.

What size rims do you have including backspacing?

And your end links don't rub the rims in the front at full drop and full turn?

The end links are connected to the lower control arm. Shouldn't be anywhere near the wheels.

I'm referring to the steering end links. On the Superlift the new knuckles relocate the mounting points higher on the knuckle, therefore, closer to the inside of the rim. So without the swaybar connected, you can achieve a more extreme angle between the end link and rim when at full drop and full turn.

Those would be tie rods. Not end links.
