View Full Version : Matt's first official Wrench Fest
No no no, not "wench fest", though that would be cool too :p
So lets get a date, list of attendees and list of work that needs to be done.
If we're still shooting for May, my only weekend open is May 17-18. Hopefully that works because i'm not sure if I'll have another free weekend until mid July (got two weeks work of travel, two daughters birthdays, a nieces birthday, a holiday, and something that my wife didn't put on my calendar but i'm sure im busy with).
If you don't have something you personally need fixed, I could always use some extra hands to help out. Between Mark, Corey and Jacob we should have PLENTY to do lol. Also a great way to learn :)
So if you're interested in coming, post up!

Hey, Matt, how sure are you that May 17-18 are clear for you? With my suspension work, I'm going to have to schedule a wheel alignment, which I would do for that Monday, May 19th. That means I need to take a day off from work, so I need to schedule that, too.
I just need my hockey schedule to see when my games are that weekend.... should have it any day now since games are supposed to start next week.

Hrm looks like ML is on call that weekend, I'll have to figure out what the schedule looks like for her, all that that really changes is whether I work on my rig or not..
I'm sure I could use an extra hand.... we can always find another free weekend to work on the XJ and maybe send the wives/kids to the beach :cool: (and of course hang out as one cool collective at the end of the day)

Well, I'm in no rush now. I held off for a long time with the hope that Jon waa going to get us some. About 2 weeks ago I changed my fluid. I still want a new cover with a drain plug, though.

I'll bring some home brew, currently have an IPA, winter warmer, and pilsner.. We'll see how motivated I am to bottle any though :p
I picked up my tubing today to do the swing out conversion, not a big deal if we don't get to it though, like I said it will be me with the kids an no wife, so I don't want to get in too much of a project in case I need to handle kid stuff.. But I'll bring my welder and angle grinder, let me know if there is anything else you guys might need that Matt doesn't have.
Yup i'm still good for the 17th!
Damn Jacob... just had to throw in the angle grinder eh? :p

Ok so... beer... I've got 3 growlers (I'd want back eventually and each are 64oz) and a handful of 12 ounce bottles that I don't care about at all.
I've got Cascase/Warrior IPA, Not sure how to classify it Pilsner, Darker Winter Warmer (made with melted snow from our last storm), and an Irish Red that I haven't tasted but should be ready..
Any requests for more or less of something? I'm not stingy if you love IPA's I'll bring extra, just don't want to bother bottling if they won't get drank. As I recall, Matt you are like me if its called beer its good :p Mark how about you? What about your buddy Matt?
Marylou is expecting to get off work around 4pm so I don't want to stay too late since it's about a 2 hr ride back for me.. I'll do my drinking early and my driving later ;)

I'll have a chinook IPA to bottle in about two weeks so I should be able to refill some for ya :cool:
My buddy delved into home-brewing as well so he's good for whatever. And knowing you're on a time limit, I got no shame in having a breakfast brew!

I'll fill I couple and bring them back, I have a bunch too and for the most part don't bottle anything unless I'm going to someones house.
And while this isn't a wheeling trip it is the next best thing, so I've got some meat marinating to make some jerky too.
Keep talking like this and guys are going to start making the trip over from the West coast!

Well if it rains that may be a positive thing.... that'll cancel my hockey game on friday and i'll be in better shape for wrenching Saturday. (pulled my groin last game, just started feeling better today)

But hey... this "old man" can still hang with high-school & college hockey players after not touching a puck in over 10 years, and i bet i'd leave them all in my dust mountain biking so i have no shame in a pulled groin :p

Alarms are my kryponite. If I happen to wake up early then it won't be an issue at all.
I took beer inventory, I might only end up with 1 bottle of the IPA I guess it was good :p
