Hey all about 2 months ago.I had my oil changed at the Ford Dealer I have been using for years. Since then I have drove over 5000 miles maybe alittle less, but I notice that my oil light reminder has not come on since that last oil change at Ford. Is there anyway that they turned if off permanently, and how can I reset it? Thanks Steve.

I don't think they could of turned it off completely. Go threw the menu and hold the reset button when you land on service.

If you hit the menu button you should be able to pull up all of the maintenance items. It should list air filter, trans service, oil and so on. Unless I'm getting my vehicles mixed up. Maybe its the menu button you hold down?

User Manual 2006 (http://www.jeep.com/download/pdf/manuals/2006_XK_Commander.pdf) Go to page 189. You don't have this setup? I'll look for the 2008.

User manual 2009 (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDQQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.dealereprocess.com%2Fcdn%2Fse rvicemanuals%2Fjeep%2F2009-commander.pdf&ei=A_opVIuiBPaHsQSCx4LACA&usg=AFQjCNGapSbMsOngqcNlVDR4JXHOi_s-aA&sig2=DFgbACrPIrRK0NqjJ9uAzg&bvm=bv.76247554,d.b2U) page 207

Edit: It also says the system is user based. So driving conditions and habits will dictate how often the oil needs changing. So your probably good.

I don't think it will let you go over 6K miles thought.

That is to long even for that type of system. Matt might know or can look it up in the SM I'll dig up my digital version and see if it says anything about that.

I will have to look @ my 2K7 XK, but I turned mine completely off, so it can be done. It is in the EVIC settings, I will update once I look at mine.

I just went out & found it on my 07 XK Overland
On the center stack below my OEM Nav screen is the Information Center buttons
I click on the Menu button several time until I see Service interval on the screen located on my dash with in the the bottom part of the RPM gage.
Click on step to choose how many miles to do it at, and turning it off along with to reset it.

Now this is on a 2K7 XK Overland W/Hemi & Nav, unsure which one you have & if this features make any difference; but this is how I got to what you were asking about.
If you need I can take & post a video.

The dash buttons changed in 2008. The best I can say is check the owner manual. If you don't have one, download it here (http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/).
