So here's the beginning of my green brick's evolution. Starting with a solid foundation: 2006 Commander Limited, HEMI + Trail Rated = QDII:cool:
Got heated seats(new to me, kinda weird ) Leather, dvd/nav(aka most useless setup EVER{No BT or AUXin}) Triple sun roof, alloy 5 spokes(17") and a bunch of stuff nobody cares about.

First mod was installing the 4xguard Matrix with winch mount assembly that I came off of Ross' sweet 3.7 XK. That's it for now, looking to lift it asap, but trying to decide if i want to go all the way with OME or start with a 2" RC, and save up for a more complete setup later. One thing is for sure, there's more to come. I can NOT leave anything automotive alone. :D

I always did like that color green on the XK.

Awesome. The RC is a good starting point man... cheap, easy to install, functions great and gives you a taste of the 2-3" lift world before spending a lot of cash and realizing you should get the 4" superlift

^^Yeah, the colour wasn't my first choice, I really wanted a white one, but they're extremely rare apparently, at least in hemi 4x4 trim. But the green ahs definitely grown on me. Wouldn't matter what colour it was honestly, after my first test drive, I was sold on it. I absolutely love the thing; everytime I walk out the door and see it I smile.lol

^And yeah, I'm sure I'll be ridin' high in it one day, but not now.lol "Small beginnings" as they say(As small as a Hemi Commander can be).

I was actually looking for a green one when I was shopping for me second XK. I ended up with another red one LOL. I think you will be happy getting by with the RC lift. I used it on my last XK and wheeled the snot out of it. Made a few wranglers look silly along the way as well. If you plan on going off road your money will be better spent on armor anyway.

Love the Jeep Green Metallic!

Damn Sal hit the nail on the head..... id spend $150 on a lift $650 on armor any day over spending $800 on a lift and $0 on armor if you're going wheeling. A belly guard and sliders will pay for themselves in one wheeling trip.

2003 Ford Expedition 3.5"/2" spacer lift, 1.5" wheel spacers, 285/70/17 Terra Grapplers, Bullbar+lights, DIY roof rack I built out of EMT, self taps, bedliner and a lot of Locktite.

2003 Ford F150 FX4....nothing really, though i think it had a leveling kit when I bought it, along with a blown head gasket  that i didn't figure out til later. Buuut, that was the first truck I bought.

Huhm....that's not something you hear everyday, but makes a lot more sense. I'm glad you guys have already been through all this; should be able to save myself some time,$$$, and aspirin.lol :)

Yeeeaah, no, that's my boss's garage. He's my age, but has more money than he knows what to do with sometimes, hence the huge empty shop.lol they had just painted the floor which why most of his junk is not inside, but I think my jeep is the only "work" it's seen so far. But, works for me https://theultimatejeep.com/images/imported/2015/04/d4a9f713fb85ac92118cdca0232dc8f4-1.jpg

Looks great man! Does that 4xguard matrix come with the d ring mounts, or is that an added cost?

Ross
05-03-2015, 05:43 PM
He actually got the Matrix setup off me a couple months ago. When I originally purchased the full matrix system, it came with everything. They now have a "basic" setup that is just the necessary hardware for D-ring mounts at around $180.

Yeah it does. It's part of the uprights that connect to the front guard.

Holiday Jones
05-03-2015, 06:41 PM
And what Ross said. If you want just d ring mounts, they sell that also.

Got out on the baby trail at Tatum Lead, just outside Chatsworth, GA. No challenge to the Commander, but good to stretch it's legs a little. 25822583258425852586
