Commander 3 row seat, replaced with false floor.

I have replaced my 3rd row of seats with a false floor. I will try and attach a few pics. I couldn't work out how to get the uploaded pics from manage attachments into the post. So I will paste a link to where I have posted them on an Australian forum I am a member of. Sorry for the inconvenience. Maybe someone could tell me how to use the attachment manager.

Maybe someone could tell me how to use the attachment manager.

Copy the link to your photo (ctr c), then click the icon above that looks like a photo of a tree, you then paste (ctr v) the link to you phot in the pop up window and your done.

I uploaded the photos to the manage attachments section. then when I click on the icon of the tree the URL box comes up but I couldn't copy the photos from the manage attachment box to the URL box? The penny finally dropped thanks Knapster

OK GUYS I NEVER SAID I WAS QUICK!!!!! I FINALLY GOT THERE. CUT ME A BIT OF SLACK. LOL.

Now to explain, I wanted something that was strong enough that if we had a roll over or an accident We wouldn't be wearing a 15kg fridge full of food and beer+ tools a 100amp deep cycle battery and any other equipment that would become a missile.
Basically what i did was make a frame of a front and rear cross member in 2'"x2"x1/4"angle and front to rear runners in 1"x1"x 1/4"angle. At the front end I welded on 4"tall feet and at the back I made feet seperately that bolted down on the seat anchor points. This made it easy to bolt the rear feet in then lift the frame in and slide it forward untill the bolt holes on the rear feet lined up.
This then gave me a space approx 4"deep under the platform( to store compressor, tyre levers, tow rope, jumper leads etc) and the platform was level with the rear loading lip on the Commander. Which gave me a terrific starting point. I mounted the fridge slide low so that it is easy to see inside the fridge and also if I lifted it higher to put draws under it I would have to add a lot of extra metal to support it. So therefore all the draw action will be on the right and a shelf above to carry light gear like sleeping bags ect. Where the storage is on the right I mounted the storage so that the base can be slid out to get access to the underfloor area for the tools and also to drop the spare if required. I didn't remove the floor carpet just layed a piece of thin rubber over the top to protect it.
Forgot to mention I also welded a couple of brackets half way down the frame that used hook bolts to clamp down on the loops that are mid way down the rear area.
If anyone is interested I can give more detailed measurements over here in Aus we work in mm not inches but I was born in U.K so have a soft spot for imperial measurement.

if you use photobucket they will be bigger when you post them, they wont be thumbnails

Do you have a photobucket account? If not, start one. It's free.
Save the pictures you want to post to your hard drive. then go to your photobucket account and
upload the pictures. Copy the "Image" tag and past it in your post. It will look something like this

You have a choice between posting a picture or if it is too large, you can use the
thumbnail option.
