Just noticed that we went over 200 members this week.
Keep spreading the word and using key words in your posts so that the search engines find us before the "other" site :)

Key words: Jeep, commander, off road, 4x4, XK, Help, Racing, crash, My commander won't....... JEEP JEEP JEEP. Also put tags in your threads you post I forget to do that my self but it will help.

When we enter a comment in the forum we talk the talk that we all know, but newbies search differently, for example:
We might say the TPS in my XK is DOA but a person searching for a defective tire presure sensor that is not operational would not search using those terms. The search would be more like: "Help with broken Jeep Commander Tire Warning light", you can see from that request that they would not be directed to our post becuase none of the words are the same
All we need to do is like Sal pointed out... Just make sure every so often when posting that we refer to the forum exactly like the search engine needs www.xk-forum.com and then use sentences like: "Last night the Tire sensor TPS on my Jeep Commander failed"
Another trick is to keep the words Jeep Commander close to the topic to be searched: Jeep Commander Forum / Jeep Commander Bumper / Jeep Commander Tires ? Jeep Commander Rules...
We don't have to make it a chore, just every now and then put in a few extra key strokes.
Another thing you can do is instead of using the favicon in your browser header to come to the forum (thatis what I do most often), try typing the address in the address bar every now and then to do a search, more searches bring you to the front of the list.

When you start a new thread at the bottom there are lots of options you can make. One of which is to add tags to your thread making it easier to find when using the search feature.

I learn more everyday!
On 9-1-2010 we had 100 members, today just one year later we have 350 members and 111 of those are active members, that means 30% of our members check in to the site on a regular basis.

I check the site everyday along with my E-mail. New to the 4x4 scene and I find all the threads very informative. Thanks for the forum.

This is the only site i check on any regular basis apart from the weather.
Bringing up this old thread for a reason... As of this moment we are at 399 members. Our next one will be #400, not bad for a small group of loyal Commander & Grand Cherokee owners and a forum that many thought wouldn't even last 1 year.
And its only getting better. :)

I'm still new so I mostly just lurk for now trying to pick up info,but I've been on jeep forums for about 12 yrs now...ever since I got my 2nd Wrangler. I must say the first one I ever joined was a good forum,and I was active on for over 8 yrs...it was a large,but good group of ppl. However since joining here, I think this place definetly takes 1st place in my eyes!

Well, welcome to the madness over here. We take stabs at each other all the time, but only in good fun. Real insults will not be tolerated, this is a GREAT group of Jeep guys/gals (<----Sal, the latter).

LOL...yea I've noticed the ball busting going on! It cracks me up! Trust me,I'm definetly not offended by any of that. I've got much thicker skin. I can take it as much as I can dish it out!

We passed 475 members with yesterdays new arrivals. Keep spreading the word, lets get 500 members before the end of the summer.
