we warmed up on raw deal (no pix of that) then headed to Lower Terminator. lower terminator is a dry river bed with a couple of falls in it that changes with each rainy season.

"white line" named for the big stripe in the ground used to be a lot easier to drive... but i smacked my windshield into the rock wall beside me when it slipped.

near the exit of the trail is an optional line that is called a "buggy line" because you usually need a well built buggy to make it. i have tried this MANY MANY MANY times. it became my "unicorn". last weekend i got it!

if you look close you can see some smoke coming out from under my rig - that's the clutch. i had the trans rebuild in july and they put in a Sachs clutch instead of the LUK clutch i asked for... and that's why it's smoking. i have to say it does pretty well for a 4,000lb jeep with a 4cyl (2.4L - the same engine in the PT Cruiser) sitting on 35" tires.

you have a winch! you can do it!

they talked me into running collateral damage when that trail was still open... i was on a 2" budget boost and man, what rough day that was!

those pix are the optional lines, we could totally run that trail and not hurt your rig.

I am willing to try as long as I can avoid body damage.

i didn't break anything but smoked the clutch on the first trip out since it was replaced. when they rebuilt the trans i specificly asked for the LUK but the guy thought he did me a favor by installing a Sachs. my stock clutch lasted 73,000 miles and this one didn't last at all. i have a short arm lift and with the amount of flex i get it's hard of bushings, i noticed a couple that need to be replaced on the rear control arms... but all in all not a bad trip out. my buddy snapped an axle shaft on his XJ
