I finally got to start the paint work on my bosses car. It's a 1971 Buick GS Stage One Convertible. Frame - off. Frame and suspension has already been sand blasted, painted, and rebuilt. Replaced both quarters, both wheel houses, complete floor pan and trunk floor. Cranberry Red. More work and pics to come.

The color is the oem code, Code 75 I believe. Standox / DuPont call it Cranberry Red, not sure what GM called it back then. Yes, it's base / clear which is the only way to go. It will all be sanded and buffed out so it will be a little while before I have more pics. I still have the doors , hood, fenders, and deck lid to paint and they aren't quite ready for paint yet. I'm glad I don't work in a restoration shop and work on jobs like this every day because they take SOOOO much time to complete. My boss is doing all the work on this Buick and I just take a couple of hours here and there to spray some paint. The best part is he pays me cash immediately for helping him out.

Not yet. My boss is doing the work himself in his free time, except for the painting. He just doesnt have much free time around the shop.

New pics. We mounted the body back on the frame. the lift was being used so we did it the old fashioned way.

Since we are so busy, he is subbing out the mechanicals to a local engine builder. Install motor and trans, brake master cylinder and booster and hook up system, install gas tank
