Forum Name (URL) / Getting Found by search engines

Let me ask you a question...

I am trying to get this site in the search engines and am concerned that the name XK-Forum may not provide enough to search with. What are your thoughs?

Just my personal opinion but I really like the name "XK-Forum".

If you type in Jeep Wrangler Forums in google JK-Forum.com pops up so there should be no reason why this site isnt listed when you do a search.

Is there any way you can contact vBulletin or someone to find out why its not showing up when you do a basic search?

A neighbor I and were discussing this very same subject and when I mentioned XK he asked what is that. Funny how many first time owners aren't used to the model designations.

You could list a few of them that all link back to xk-forum.com. I did the same with a couple of my websites.

You could list a few of them that all link back to xk-forum.com. I did the same with a couple of my websites.

That's what I was thinking, no matter what the name is (commander in ot or not) it takes a while to move up the list. But I can buy more URLs and link them to this site (Depends on how much I want to spend).

On BING search, it is the third one from the top if you type in "xk forum" and run a search, a few links or something would probably come in handy.

Google and yahoo do not have it yet. and non of them have it just searching jeep commander. So I started searching in general I made two searches on google 1. Jeep Commander ARB lockers. 2. Jeep commander rage roof basket. Both searches pulled my threads from jeepcommnder.com as first on the list. Bing nothing for search 1 search 2 pulled a post with the info from my signature in a thread I posted in. Yahoo about the same as google except it was a little off on 2 but still pulled from jeepcommander.com I think it will take a while for the search spiders to catch up and start listing this site more.

I think he means a " Link " page or tab. One where we could have our personal links and then he would do the same in return on his website. Am I right Don ?

The other idea, was simply a link back. Same idea, we have a place to put links to our websites and in turn we could each create a link somewhere
back to this forum.

Personal sites would include my business website. not just donpirtle.com a lot more people go to the agency website as opposed to mine,

Thats cool and all but not a lot of people know the Commander is an XK. So they would never think to type in XK forum in the search engine. Most people would search for " Jeep Commander Forums" or something similar. When you type that into any search engine, jeepcommander.com is #1 on the list. Another thing, I have never heard of bing prior to it being mentioned on this site. Most people use google, yahoo or something similar. Just something to think about. Theres got to be something else we can do to make this site pop up when you do a normal search.

If you haven't yet, include " xk jeep commander" in all of the meta name fields.
