First of all, sand sucks ! I can hear that clicking sound and then that big pop up front. Did you ever figure out what that is ?

It the traction control system as far as I can remember. I can make the sound happen at will in those situations. I usually can avoid it but sometimes you just need to do it and for a local wheeling spot 15 minuets from the house well, I can't complain I do live in the sand hills after all :)

This only happens in 4LO, its probably the spider gears reaching max torque( because brake holds the wheel) then slipping out allowing power to move to the other wheel.

I can't remember are you QT2 or QD2?

QT2

I could definitely see the difference between QT2 and QD2 from that video.

The only reason I'm glad I have QT2 is less complicated axles and electronics and I can at least for now get a rear locker if I want and a front locker I'm guessing is only a year or two away.

Isn't QT2 the reason for all the noise? It uses the ABS right?

Sal-XK

yes it uses the brakes to stop a spinning wheel and that forces the power to the other wheel. The noise is when the brake grabs the wheel the spider gears slip just before they break which causes the power then go to the other wheel. The popping don't happen all the time only when lots of wheel spin is accruing and both tires have some grip but one tire slips just a little more then the other. IMO I wish the tolerance for the system was a little looser in this situation but we can't have it all I guess.

Lol you mean the guy who was trying to tell me that CV spacers reduce CV angles but didn't really understand what they were for? And then got all angry at me (for doing nothing) and started making smartass comments?

I wouldn't worry about him. Just put a "gay Smiley" in your post and he'll get all flustered!

Matt how do you like those tires? Any rpoblem with them running in that size? I've been planning on those just don't know what size.

Matt
04-05-2011, 09:50 AM
I'm really liking the AT2s. I wanted the 245/75 or the 255/70, but both those sizes were on backorder so I went with the 245/70s. They have a deeper tread than just about every other AT tire of comparable size, theyre available in XL load rating so no need to go with an unnecessarily heavy LT tire, they're smooth and quiet on the street and have impressed me offroading and in extremely deep snow..... and, most importantly, the price is right. I'd definitely recommend them. :)

Good to know. Do you have an pictures of them? Can you post one of the side profile with the wheel well in the picture and a picture of the tread?
