Has anyone done this here. I didn't see a thread about it. A guy over at JF just did it to his WK and I wanted to know if anyone had any experiance?
Thanks

In the "other forum", a member named jdeal has headlights that have a gunmetal colored casing. Here is a link to the thread where it is shown on the "other forum". http://www.jeepcommander.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10440&highlight=show+me+your+lifted+xk&page=11

I apologize to the administrators in advance since it may not be allowed to post links to the other forum, but jdeal is only a member on that forum. Hope it helps CmmdrDan.

I saw that in post 103 of the linked thread, you can paint the inside almost any color you want but I am not aware of anyone else ever doing this mod.

I think you should just use a black Sharpie to get that ms paint look. :)

nice find I thought I read about that before. I'll see if I can make it easier to find.

That would be great. Also, I have the word document of how i did it if people would prefer that. Unfortunately, the pictures I took are lackluster at best.

I'm farting around with a spare set now and let me tell you..what a pain. I was able to remove the lenses but it took a while and almost fubared one of them. Now I'm having trouble getting the paint to stick to the chrome. I did all the steps necessary to paint over it, but it's just not cooperating with me.

What are you using to bond the paint to the plastic\chrome? Sanding don't always work sometimes and I always recommend using something in between the piece and the paint. Like for my bumpers I sanded then etched them to have something for the paint to stick to.

Same procedure I'm using, bro. It's just the seperation line from where the tape is, is where it's peeling. <----Am I making any sense? (too early for me, lol)

Edit: I spoke to okiecommander and he gave me some pointers, once I try this new technique I will post the results.

Hey guys the krylon fusion paint that I used is specifically designed (so it says and it has lasted being parked outside in the oklahoma weather experiment for the last 9-10 months) to bond to plastics including painted plastics. I did not put anything in between. From the forums that I got the info from (read mostly sports car mods) they did not do anything special. I will say that if it has held up in the recent heat wave (we are on record to have the hottest summer ever in oklahoma), it strikes me that it is not going to fail for a long time. I will update this if that happens but right now its still looking good

Can you put a thread together with pictures and how to so it can be referenced. Also include your review of it and how its held up with some good pictures that would be helpful.
