Just to let you guys know I closed the parts link thread (http://www.theultimatejeep.com/showthread.php?541-Jeep-XK/WK-Parts-Links?highlight=parts+link). I kept it open to get links from members but really no one gave me any but one or two. This will keep the post clean and free of lots of posts. This will also help the original thread serve the purpose it was created for. You can PM me any links or sites you think should be in there and I will put them in the thread. Also feel free to leave comments here or PM me comments on anything to do with the parts link thread. Doesn't matter what it is if you think closing it was a bad idea let me know.

Parts Link is also in my signature.

Sal, you should put a link to this thread in your parts link thread... and say something like "if you have any other links to recommend, post them here". Then you can transfer the links back to the "cleaner" thread.

I just found this site RockAuto (http://www.rockauto.com/) has anyone used this site before. It seems to have a good amount of parts at reasonable prices.

yeah i've been using rockauto for a long time. It's a great site, very well organized, and their shipping is fast. That's the first place I go when im looking for replacement parts.

Im not sure if your list is a getting started list or provide comprehensive list of options. Id like to see the link for Monroe load levelers Link added, cant find it for the life of me. Also maybe slap in a section for rock sliders. And also add the remaining brands offering skid protection and current prices.

Well, the premium section was for site sponsors. The full protection parts is the essential list for wheeling what I would call a bare minimum amount of armor to wheel with. Obviously under the full protection list I don't have all the armor that is sold for us listed there and a lot has changed since I last worked on this. I'll take suggestions on the best way to lay it out like should it be just an Armor section. I'll the shocks to the list for people find them but should I just add the part numbers or the amazon link that is the question because amazon is not the only place to get them.

I think One page per topic would be very nice But there is nothing really wrong with the current setup. Part number is probably most helpful.
Here is an example of how I would approach.

Page 1
Armor
Bumper/Grill/Brush Guard
-options-

Front Suspension Guard*
-options-

Belly Guard*
-options

Transfer Case
-options

Differential/Driveshaft/CVJoint Prottection and/or Skids**
-options-

Fuel Tank Skid**
-options-

Rock Sliders**
-options-

Rear/Bumper Protection**
-options-

* Basic Required Protection
** Premium or Advanced Protection

You could rank them how you see fit - Most people's perception of what they feel are basic necessities for skids will differ based on experience, and the type of wheeling they do.

I could tweak how it's organized a little bit but that would require busting out the laptop and a mouse LOL

I added user manuals and fixed a couple of links as well as deleted some companies no longer in business.

Clawing our way back for when everyone gets tired of facebook!

Yup! Can't store information and how to's on FB. I did notice FB kinda took center stage over the forum :( I'm not a FB fan. Jeeps and fishing are all I log on FB for.

FB has killed a lot of forums. Whats ironic is all the "search nazis" cant complain cause its almost impossible to find previous useful info and 10000x worse than the repeat posts on forums

Facebook is great for quick discussions, but forums make for the best repositories of knowledge.

I cant stand FB at all, I only keep it so I can see pictures of niece and nephews and keep in touch with a few friends I dont talk to regularly. All the security and permissions that website has is not something that appealing, as anti powerful gov't as I am!!!

A side note, with all this recent activity here it makes me want another XK, but I love my RAM!!! I told my buddy who sold my XK for me that if that thing comes back and guy wants to sell Im buying it back..
