Horne blasts Obama Administration on court filing
Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne has blasted the Obama Administration for filing a late brief in a court fight over an Arizona law requiring people to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote.

PHOENIX -- Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne has blasted the Obama Administration for filing a late brief in a court fight over an Arizona law requiring people to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote.
A three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the Arizona law. The state is appealing to the full court.
Horne will personally argue the case before an 11-judge panel on June 21.
Last Friday afternoon, the Obama Administration filed an 11th hour amicus, or friend of the court, brief arguing against Arizona's law.
Horne said Tuesday, "First, the Obama Administration fails to do its job on the border. Then it sues Arizona to prevent us from helping to fight illegal immigration. Then it tries to create a false sense of complacency by arguing that the border is safe, when it isn't.
"Now it argues that persons should be able to register to vote without providing adequate information enabling verification of citizenship, thus enabling illegal aliens to register to vote. This is contrary to the interests of the people of the United State of America."
