Today I got in my Reese front tow hooks. A couple guys said they were running them n their Commanders, and I cannot figure out how to mount them. Can anyone post pics they are required for the trail run this weekend. Need Help! Do I need to drill new holes to make these fit?

Factory Tow Hook (http://jeepdex.com/Commander/DOCS1/fronttow.pdf)
I used this as a guide and bolted my hooks on.

This looks more like the factory Mopar tow hooks. The reese ones did not come with the three point mounting plate. The ones i got are generic, 2 hole 2 bolt mount to the frame kind, I was hoping someone else had tried it. They were $10 so I couldnt pass them up.

that is exactly what I did. I used the guide to remove the facia and then drilled another hole to bolt the hook on.
I have used them several times, to pull other people out. I have had no issues.

Gotcha, did you use the supplied hardware? or have to go buy new bolts/

I used all Grade 8 hard ware and lock tight on the threads. The bolt closest to the front had to be drilled there was no hole and yes I have used them got pulled out on a angle buy a F250 they held up fine.

I did the same thing Sal did and used the hardware provided.

Always buy new grade 8 hardware. it'll cut down on flying objects.

Mine are mounted in the same holes as Sal's, but the tip of the hook faces down because the ones I used had the spring strap retainer.

The only thing I would do different is get a piece of metal to act as a giant washer that both the bolts would go thew like a backing plate. I'll probably do that when I switch to a shackle setup.

Awesome thanks, I didn't want to get down there and not be allowed on the trails for no front recovery point. Thanks, it looks like that cap was what I need to remonve so I can see inside the cross member? I just dont want to start taking off body panels on Friday night when I leave at 6:00 on Saturday. Thanks

You can get the everything you need off to put the hooks on in like 10 minuets it only takes me like 5 minuets now there is nothing to it.
