Here's what I was working on during the 4th of July. Anybody have an extra winch laying around?

waren has some nice entry level winches and there made in the USA as well check them out. You can find some real cheap ones out there but they are mostly made in china. Oh and thats a pretty sweet bumper bro. Did you make it your self?

Thank you! Yes, I made the bumper here at home out of my shop. It's a prototype, but I would like to maybe add fog lights and a hoop for additional lights.

I really like that, it's really clean. Great work.
You want to make more of them?

It looks really sweet bro everyone is always screaming for a front bumper to purchase so you never know maybe you could make some extra coin. I think the fog lights would look cool and you diffidently need a front hoop or something it would finish the bumper off nicely.

I like it as is. Clean and good lines, kind of reminds me of a Road Armor Bumper. PM me a price I will get one just like this, first bumper I have seen for the Commander I have really liked, great work

Now you just need some seat belts so that the Mother in Law can ride along with you without distracting you. Doc just sold my old TJ with a winch on it. I do not think we would have got any less without the winch, poor timing.

Check out the andersons. I bet they have deals on them. Did you look at harbor freight on line.

VERY VERY NICE! one of the best I have seen! if it had a "hoop" over the winch area it would be near perfect for my taste.

You have a sharp looking bumber so dont short change yourself with a cheap, winch. You may save a few hundred bucks, but if you need to use it you will wish you had a good one. its right when you have to use it when you start wishing you had something bigger/better.

NICE JOB!

Thats really sharp, I would prefer more of a "stealthy" (for lack of a better term) bumper tho. A good example is Omelet's winch set-up on JF's. Would you be able to do a bumper hugging the front with a hidden winch set-up?

I think that would be a cool design too! I would love to do something like that.

I should threaten the kids with that!

are you going to make a skid for under the bumper or try the 4xguard front skid.

I am working on an optional skid plate that would bolt to the bumper and then attach to the radiator support.

I still need to examine it a bit more, but the skid might attach underneath the factory engine skid plate instead.

If I had a steal bumper I would expect to be able to push it up a ledge and slide smoothly to the tires. IMO it diffidently needs the fog lights mimicking the stock bumper a little bit. I know the hoop is a easy addition to the bumper the fog lights seem like they would be a little of a challenge to get done right.

Give me a call and we can meet up this week. I'll lend you the winch off of my YJ. It's already off and I won't need it for 2 weeks. I'll send the fairlead with it.
