    Many people get too over concerned with credit bureaus and credit reports. Do you know what your FICO score is? Do you care? I used to be real concerned about it but learned that the FICO score is really a “I love debt score” because if you were independently wealthy and paid for everything with cash you would have a very low FICO score as you would have no record of debt and payment history.

    Kids & Money

    I grew up in a single parent family with 6 brothers and sisters so there was little talk about saving money, there was no money to save.

    I didn’t teach my kids lessons on saving as nobody taught me, now I know and it is too late to do SOME of the things I have learned but not too late to do all of the things I have learned as far as it relates to my children. Remember my kids are 19 and 21 years old now!

    Savings

    There are a lot of reasons to save money, we have talked about the emergency fund and that is the first place we want to start but we cannot stop there. After we get through with paying off our debt we will begin savings for several different things.

    Don’t not get the cart before the horse here, I do not want you to start savings on these other things until you have your $1,000 emergency fund AND you have paid off all of your debts (except the house).
