As the month of July draws even closer I cannot help but get a little excited about my up-coming vacation. a year ago I penciled in the month of July 2010 for my vacation, now with under a week to go it is hard to remain focused at work.

Friday July 2nd my wife and I plan to pull out of the driveway early in the morning to enjoy a well deserved rest. The kids (now adults) are staying at home and for the first time in 21 years Janet & I get a vacation that is truly just ours. Our plans call for a road trip through California to Sacramento to visit Janet's dad and have a 4th of July BBQ with her family who will be driving in form around California, after a couple of days we hit the road again to drive north to Grants Pass Oregon to visit my mom and 3 of my 4 sisters.

A day trip to Bandon Oregon to visit friends is also planned and since Bandon is my place of birth I look forward to seeing how it has grown, not that I rememebr anything of what it looked like 50 years ago when the population was just over 1,200 people.

After two weeks with family we return to Arizona for 2 days to switch vehicles, load the trailer and head out to Colorado for some fantastic off-road driving with all our friends from xk-forum.com & jeepcommander.com.

I am sure I will blog of our adventures and maybe even see some of you along our travels. Stay tuned...
