man that is one nice looking XH. Love the color.
That's a way to make an entrance!!!!!!!!!
Love the look of your XH
Not just today but over the weekend I put it up on the lift and took care of a few things: Trans filters and fluid change (and it still makes the whining noise in gear  ) 16 new spark plugs, air filter, and I finally replaced the inner tie-rod that I have had the part sitting in under the seat for two years now. The tie-rod was a very easy repair by the way. I had also found some stainless steel cable ties that I used to replace the crimp-clamp on the boot.
I also finally got out the hydraulic ram to try and straighten out the lower radiator support that I bent on a tree stump hidden under the mud about four years ago. It's better now but still not quite right.
The whole weekend I kept looking at the shredded front diff mount (the rear one - common failure) and not feeling enthused about trying to drop the diff to replace it, I ended up dropping the Jeep off at the dealer today and they took care of it for me. They billed me for 3.5 hours, but I'm sure it saved me some busted knuckles and a lot of frustration. I have had that part under the seat with the new tie rod for about a year now...
Thinking of putting the new front driveshaft in today...
Do it!

Don't forget to pull the tranny crossmember. Lol
Done. Wasn't bad..... hardest part was filing the crossmember bolts so the socket would go on...
I just lowered the crossmember enough to get the shaft out.
Yeah my bolts are all messed up too. I have all new ones in my tool box that ill swap in once I do the t case.
Today was kind of a busy day for the XK and I.. started by rotating the tires, backs came straight forward fronts went to opposite corners, tires are non directional so this seemed the best idea. I also did the passenger side pinch weld mod or I should say re-did since the guy tried doing it before me just sludge hammered the s**t out of it!! Did the best I could since it was a mangled mess, no more rubbing which is the that matters. Greased up the caliper slides to prepare for winter/off roading. Also finally got around to cover the plastic rocker mounting holes with black grip tape and painting the rest with black bedliner. Came out really nice, I didnt like the green grip tape so went with the black and Im glad I did. My CB also came in Friday so I put that in the Jeep as well, just need to figure out how to mount antenna down the road. Here are some shots of todays events, didnt take pics of the pinch weld but here is the rest..

Had new Cooper Discoverer HTP's installed at Discount Tire Co... sadly in the OEM size. My Revo 2's were shot to hell making it unpleasant to drive in the rain. Then I posted my cars.com ad :( But I've decided to pick up an '11-'13 Dodge Challenger R/T; 6 speed of course!
Finished fixing the exhaust leak that I had coming from the drivers side manifold. The two rear bolts were snapped right off. I installed a new manifold, new gasket and all new bolts. Total cost was around $120. I should get the XK back tomorrow night from getting the doors fixed. He was starting to paint them as I was leaving
Tested the locker and messed up the front drive shaft! Matt were did you get your drive shaft from?

Ummm the drivers side manifold is a pain in the butt. I removed the battery, battery tray, moved the fuse box out of the way and took out the plastic inner fender well liner. It's very tight on that side. My arms are all ripped up from doing the swap. Lol
I thought you tested the locker the day after the install? And how did you mess up your front drive shaft??
It's all good. I just torqued them from the center out. Did and X pattern on the 4 middle bolts and then the same on the outers.
Yes i tested the locker the day after but not to hard. Yesterday i put it through hell and it worked great. Dont know how i messed up the drive shaft maybe to much gas or something. Completely ripped the boot off grease everywhere. Now i also did something were i have a loud hollow thump when i go over speed bumps. Thinking something with my struts and UCA plus steering rack it tour up. Rough day yesterday!!

On Monday, I sheared all five studs off the front passenger wheel doing 75mph on the freeway! The wheel stayed on--just barely--spinning around the disk rotor til we came to a stop. The wife was driving and did a great job holding things together.
What caused it, I don't have a clue. It was pretty sudden (a few seconds). Maybe the new wheels?
Ordered some new headlight bulbs. Mine seem to be getting worse with age, more dull yellow. Did some looking around and went with the following, based on reviews I had seen.
Went with Phillips Crystal Vision Hi's and Lo's. Also went ahead and ordered fogs too, Optilux Yellow Xenon. Will report back with a comparison picture. Not bad doing all six bulbs shipped for 70 bucks.
That's definitely not cool!!!
I've never heard of a properly installed wheel shearing off like that. It's normally due to not being seated on the hub properly, using the wrong lug nuts or not being torqued down.
Are you using hubcentric rings?
I'm still not sure what the cause was. The lug nuts were torqued down. There was no vibration, shimmy, or out of balance feel before it started to go, then, all of a sudden it felt like we had a blowout. Then it got worse!
All I can think is that that wheel has been on and off a lot with all the CV replacements, tire and wheel changes, rotations, etc. The lug nuts were getting pretty stiff the last time they went on. Are OEM studs insufficient for the much larger/heavier rubber? These 33 KM2's must weigh twice what the OEM 29 inchers weighed.
Oem studs are fine for larger tires. My 33 inch MTR's are very heavy along with my steel wheels and no problems here. Was that the original hub/wheel bearing assembly? If not what brand was the original replaced with
swapped out my bulbs in my headlights and fogs. I went with a yellow fog, boy these things are YELLOW. Lights up real well with the mix of white and yellow.
Nice refresh to my WK's look at night.
What fogs did you go with?
Alright ill be doing the yellow fogs mod too, do you like the way the look? are they nice and bright?
alright thanks, sounds good
Yeah I am definitely into HIDS and yellow fogs one of these days
