As Promised! Hypertech Max Energy
As you can tell Jon - There is a spot on this window... it's got Steel Armadillo all over it.

1 of my 3 expected toys arrived today. Got my Hypertech Max Energy Programmer. Took all but 30 mins to update the programmer with the provided disk. And then program the 3.7... This thing... will pay itself off by the end of spring, lmao! Pics below.

MPG test (I cleared the MPG calculater, drove around at about 45-55) not quite city, but not HWY speed either)

Might have to try this out, just for the mpgs!
Here are a few highway mpg's after installing my Hypertech Max Energy for the V6 . I also have an exhaust, so I honestly do not know how much, (if at all), this will effects my MPG's (supposedly they do).

MPG fell a little because someone decided to brake for debris on the road pissing me off..

MPG's did continued to climb though for a little more until I hit 21.3 then it kind of Plataea'd there. This is on FLAT ground, obviously, no hills here for a little while.
Man I would have a **** eating grin on my face with those kinds of numbers. Especially considering the mods you have with those tires and all. I'm hoping to see some gains when I get mine as well.
When are you getting one???
Dan ordered one, so I'm sure he can report to you his findings when he installs it as well. I already went over the specifications I adapted for my vehicle with him. It would be really nice if this thing could program up to 3 different specifications that way I could just plug the daggone thing in, press a button and it adapt all the specs i previously set. There are two pspecs I like.. my gas sipping, low rev running, highway and city spec. And my high rev, fan running, high octane using offroad spec. lol.
I just purchased Jon's super chips programmer off of him. I was waiting to get the vivid but didn't realize it was going to be almost $600 :( I also don't have any android based phones to just get the app which should be a bunch cheaper. So if I ever end up with a android based tablet I'll sell this one and get the vivid app if Jon rights a good review of it. :)
By Request.
Pro's and Con's of the Hypertech Max Energy Programmer for owners of the 3.7L Engine
Con's
1. Interface is kinda cheap - it has a digital analog display, This is my primary dislike about this thing, but I don't have to look at it every day.
2. Lacks ability to store multiple specs (some specs are more conducive for various environments ie; offroading vs highway driving).
3. Process is admittedly a little slow - (but this is mostly a personal problem)
4. Cannot manipulate Shift Points (The next version should definitely include this for 3.7's... hint hint Hypertech.)
Pro's.
1. Functional, Practical, Effective (Does what it says it will do ie: more hp, more torque, better mpg's)
2. Great Initiative (currently the only viable tuner for 3.7's to my knowledge)
3. Straight Forward Install (instructions were more than sufficient for install, which included updating software, before updating my programmer before reprogramming the Jeep ).
4. Price is appropriate (for the most part)
5. Customer Service (this is BIG for me, when I cannot contact you or you don't respond to my e-mail in 24hrs. I tend to get really pissed off!)
Suggestions for Hypertech
This is the only real viable programmer available for the 3.7's. Having said that, I kinda feel like I'm cornered into a position where I HAVE to test it, lol. While I'm sure it has undergone various testing and perfecting - I still feel it is a product that can only get better for us - So please don't stop Hypertech, continue to develop this program. Most will pay $400+ for this programmer, when you open it and take a look at it, it probably won't feel like there's 400 dollars in your hand, which is a little saddening - BUT, once you plug it into your jeep, program everything, and it says success - you squint your eyes, look in the opposite direction that your eyes are looking, crank the jeep and take it for a ride. You relax on the price after a bit - (but you always keep it in the back of your head). I think this is something that Hypertech should continue to keep the ball rolling on. A faster programmer, with more options (memory storing abilities, shift point modifications, touch screen or more up-to-date interface display.) Overall I would probably give this product a 'B to a B+'
Question on your MPG display: Were you using your cruise control while on the expressway and did you clear the MPG? If not, what type of driving conditions were you in while getting those numbers?
