So I did go to muffler shop after I couldnt get the Camaro. Have a great idea of what we are going to do, instead of Flowmaster 10s, Im going Jones Full Boar Single Champer mufflers which I heard a HEMI with and is orgasmic!! Once these come in we will be good to go.. Ill keep everyone updated

So mufflers get here Friday and Saturday the exhaust will be getting done. Plan is as Matt and I discussed, running duals from cats back over rear axle where single chamber mufflers will be installed in place of spare tire. From there the down spouts will be down and out still hidden from site like stock. I have a feeling this is going to be loud and may ponder the dynamat idea Matt had mentioned, however my question is will the dynamat sustain the heat from exhaust?
-
Install the dynamat inside the xk, under the carpet. Go as forward with it as possible, definitely take out the 3rd row to get the mat under there.
I cant wait to see how this turns out!!!
-
Dynamat is a great idea, yes it will last from the heat from the exhaust.

Still not done he got swamped as its the 1st so people are flooding in.. doesnt help the stock pipes from cats are doubled so he's gone thru 6 blades cutting the pipe. It will be done today and is coming together very nicely.. As soon as I have pics I will post and will get a video of driving, WOTs and MDS sounds to get an idea of what its going to be like.. He says its going to sound like an SRT8 with exhaust, which is music to my ears!

9PM.... stop holding back those pictures! :p

Hahaha I know everyone is anxious. Ill get some today only had a chance to get a couple yesterday, the guy was busy as hell! Its still not 100% done, a few leaks and rattles to work out but it is extremely loud! What I may do to quiet it down is had a dual in dual out muffler where stock location is as right now its straight back duals from cats over rear axle with the single chamber mufflers welded in with down spouts. It a bit to raspy for my liking right now, which is probably caused by leaks/rattles but my thought is adding the muffler in the middle where stock would be and help reduce sound..
-
How would putting the muffler back in the stock location reduce sound? The further back you put it the quieter it'll be... unless there's more insulation above where the stock muffler location is to reduce noise; but that can be fixed with the dynomat.
A DI/DO should help out though. Thinking of going with a Super 40??
-
He's talking about adding a third muffler in the location where the OEM muffler was to make the entire system quieter
-
OOooohhh.... I didn't pick up on that. Interesting idea!
-
Yes exactly what Adam says, adding a D/I D/O muffler where stock exhaust is retaining true duals but making the exhaust note deeper/quieter at the same time. I had a feeling this set up would be loud and would have to play with it a bit to get it right, but after talking with my dad and the my buddy who did it, this will work out to giving the best sound
