What kind of degrees do you have now?
Its minor... I want to say 10. So it wont be a drastic change.
Thats not bad, report back what you find aftet the flip.
Yeah the angle was too much... so i flipped it back. I did drop it down one spacer. I'll be adding a 0-degree stem to my wish list.

Also did some work on my friends Raleigh. Not a bad bike for the price... but its a bit heavy. I set it up 1x9 with a surly ss chainring, MRP guide, shortened the chain and properly adjusted his derailleur. Set him up with Stans tubeless conversion kit. Fixed his headset (stem was too high and it wasn't tightened down properly). His brakes were also horribly adjusted so i fixed those too... they didn't even align his calipers properly. Oh, and hooked up his Cateye. He owes me big time.... which is good because i'll have him align my jeep after I lift it again (we worked at the same shop for years together)

Nice! I was thinking that the stem upside down would of been too much, especially since you are running a straight bar allready. I need to remove my big sprocket from up front and adjust the rear derailer.
Yeah... the angle doesn't look like much, but flipped over it was much more extreme.
We went out for a ride today. My buddy loved the work i did on his bike. lol he almost went OTB the first time he hit the brakes.... its amazing how properly aligning the caliper and adjusting the pads makes a difference!! I like my bars lowered that little bit... i think a straight stem will be perfect (then possibly some riser bars and get rid of that last spacer).
Its basically a rim strip with a valve in it and sealant which replace the tubes. So its like a car tire at that point.... just the rim and tire. The sealant also does a great job of stopping flats from punctures (like thorns). I used to go through tubes like crazy.... haven't had a flat tire since going tubeless.
Tubeless also lets you run much lower pressure since you don't have to worry about pinch flats. Thus, a smoother/faster ride and more traction for turns and climbs.
Looks like I'll have to try this conversion........I'm running to aired up right now but if I let some out I get the pinch flats.
Check it out.............saw this at work today..

Rode one of these at a Jeep Ride n Drive some years back. It was cool to look at. Riding was another story.
There's 2 things i've seen done. You can either get the normal 29er kit that has presta's
: http://www.notubes.com/Plus-Four-Kit-P98C12.aspx
Or get the 26er freeride kit that has schraders:

I'd probably just get the normal 29er kit and give that a shot. Should still work fine....
The Jeep Commanche bike looks REALLY heavy, lol.

Here's mine - I just have an entry-level mountain bike from Marin I bought from REI. It's actually a pretty tough bike. I've been considering a dual-shock now And i'm so impressed with Marin that I will probably get one from them - But that will have to wait - What I'd pay for a Mid-grade Marin mtn bike - would EASILY translate to a 4.5" lift and 33's all the way around, and possibly a spare, lmao.
I'll take some video footage and toss'm up for you guys to see what I tackle. There are all kinds of obstacles - including gap jumps and such - fun stuff.
Marin makes a good bike, i was looking at them before i got the HardRock. I would like to see vids and pics of "action" shots. I just got a GoPro but i have to get a bike mount so i can film my ride.
My first bike was a Trek 830 which I can't find any pix of right now. Then I bought a Mountain Cycle San Andreas frame in high school and built it up. I have made some moddifications over the years as well. Here is how it sits now:

Last year I bought a GT Sanction and built it up. I feel bad for my MC because it never gets any action anymore. I have been thinking about selling it, but it is hard. It is such an iconic bike that I loved for so many years. It will be hard to part with.

Both of those bikes are sexy as hell, I would have a hard time letting go of either one of those.
If the price is right, Nathan... If the price is right. The chance to be graced buy something that Nathan once owned... OMG...
AJ you are one crazy guy!

Damn bro, nice bikes! Do you still own all of these?
Damn.. really nice bikes!
We saw some guys biking up the road for Flagpole....ugggh!
yes i currently own all of these, my wife thinks im nuts and have a bike fetish. i have been riding bikes since i was a kid and it has kinda escalated into something bigger than just a hobby for me it more of a lifestyle. most of the days i ride to work and any chance i get offroad on the dirt. my bikes see more miles and dirt than the jeep unfortunately, but i do use the jeep alot since i help build and maintain the local trails with the freeride/downhill bike club Freerideoklahoma.com.
o yea by the way omelet your gt sanction is sweet, i like their bikes alot..
This is my favorite time of year for riding!
Unfortunately, the trails around here still have a lot of drying to do before they're really rideable :( (note: i did not blast through the mud... i tried to cause as little trail damage as possible. people spend a lot of time maintaining these trails)

Nice bike Matt!
You guys have some awesome bikes, much like your Jeeps. I just got back into mtn biking after a few years, and bought my Trek 3500 last summer (2010). Its done well and held up to everything Ive put it through, but I'd like to upgrade to either a better hardtail (disc brakes etc.) or maybe even to a full suspension.

^^ get rid of the toe clips man! those things are outright dangerous https://theultimatejeep.com/notfound.png
Hahaha I know they're bad. I've ridden with them on for a long time now. Not sure why I ever put them on in the first place, but it feels weird to me without them lol
Give some clipless a try, only takes 10 minutes to get used to
I should, been a few times I've almost gotten into big trouble because of them.
fwiw, i'm a huge fan of TIME pedals https://theultimatejeep.com/notfound.png
I'll have to look into them. Thanks man.
