All in all, if I can get a nice smooth powder coat finish for $5.99 a can....AND I can take it off in 3 minutes if I don't like it...count me in! :)

You can check out my gas cap tomorrow LOL
I think the trick is to do a "brushing" of 50% transparency for your first coat (they say this is what makes it bond to the surface) and then you continue with 3-4 light coats and it turns out a nice dark black finish.
Worked perfectly on the gas cap.
Regardless of the process, it's still a layer that can be "peeled" off without damaging the surface its covering. So there's no mechanical or chemical bond happening there.
It's ****ing magic Matt ok??
I agree. It's just "interesting" to me as to how it works. Like how it can be peeled off, but temperature fluctuations (specifically on wheels) doesn't cause it to "loosen" and fall off especially with the forces at high speeds. Or how wind shear doesn't cause it to peel off that guys hood you posted. Yet, all you need to do is get a corner up and peel it off? lol mind boggling
It's either magic, or people on the internet dont like posting "failures" so they never show you pictures of their plastidip flapping in the wind! lol :p
Please refer to my previous post :)
No I do understand what you mean and I definitely do not know enough about it to explain how the **** works LOL but from others who have had it on their wheels for 2 years + and they claimed the only thing they did was respray a few spots from rock nicks / offroad then it's worth a shot for me to try out.
Overall, I intend to get a set of nice wheels but I want a cheap way out right now :) (UCAs,Locker) comes first!!!
